This has spoilers for a solo bersker walkthough. So if you want to be unspoiled...

Someone actually won solo bersker. It is only possible on the SNES version. It is not possible on the GBA version due to an asinine rule. The thread explains everything if you have been following sullla/this thread.

Never mind what this post might have said, I was being stupid at the time.

Well Sullla posted his solo beserker report. I only have two things to add:

1. When I said the berserker can not use the chicken knife I mean EVER use the chicken knife. lol The flee effect does actvite but the berserker can not flee from battle. However, the game thinks the flee was successful and makes everyone immune from damage. This causes the game to be stuck in an infinite loop under normal conditions forcing you to reset.

2. It may be humanly possible to run enough reptions to have a shot at neo-exdeath. If you do that you need to get better things to do with your time though. lol My evidance for this is that people have spent 500 hours grinding in the first reactor in FF7. I choose this video because it shows the time-counter in ff7 does not go past 99:99 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgvlAGY3R0c

Thanks for the pointer MJW, I probably wouldn't have seen that. Not much point in writing up comments though since Sullla won't see them here to continue the discussion.

That was pretty cool, I don't check the Garath site at all anymore so I didn't notice that it came out.

Also T-Hawk, can you turn off the 'similar threads' function on the bottom of the forum? That probably involves a search somewhere so it would save a bit.

Sorry to necro this thread, but seeing Sulla's runs on FFV inspired me to pick the game up myself.

In case anyone is interested, and I'm not sure if it was done yet so I'll see anyways, I did manage to run and complete a SCC Cannoneer run on FFV:A.

Was quite an interesting run I'll tell you that.

Very nice. No I haven't done it and I don't think Sullla or Sofis or anyone else has either. Wow, level 50 is pretty low for any solo.

Did you cheat in the Cannoneer's ammo early, or go all the way with daggers?

Daggers all the way, though they start out with Open Fire which OHKO Karlabos with about 500-900 damage a shot. I have boss write-ups for the Cannoneer, though most of the early ones can be summed up with "I used Open Fire once or twice."

Though Cannoneers can also equip Swords apparently, so that was a big help.

I also noticed the weapon I ahd equipped had either little or no effect at all on Open Fire's damage, so I was able to keep the Main Gauche equipped all game. From what I saw, level's the only thing that really adds to it's damage.

Boss strategy spoilers

Open Fire is all the Cannoneer has until you can obtain the class normally, but that's really ALL it needs until he gets Combine ammo.

Tougher fights were generally any multiboss fight like the Dragon Pod, though Open Fire has a chance of inflicting Death on it's target which helps in a few cases.

Puroboros can be done with luck, just need enough health to survive one 1500 damage Exploder, to Open Fire on one to kill it, then hope Main Gauche+Elven mantle blocks enough hits that Exploders are the only thing hurting you, chugging an Elixir after each fight.

Atomos was actually a joke since I found out Open Fire doesn't wake up sleeping enemies(which also helped make the Gargoyle battles easy, otherwise I'd have had to try to Open Fire them both to death quickly), and he went out on the first Sleep Blade strike.

Exdeath at World 2 was difficult only because of Doom, I needed to avoid getting hit by it twice. After that Open Fire would ahve knocked him down to his second routine.

Wendigo took a while since I could only Open Fire one at a time, but I was never in any real danger.

Omniscient took FOREVER, since Open Fire triggers Reset so I had to wait for him to kill himself.bang

The three bosses at the Great trench I just used the Magic Lamp(Odin), I couldn't find any way Open Fire would kill all three fast enough.

After this point, I was able to finish getting all 12 Legendary Weapons, open up the Cannoneer class legitly and start buying Blitzshots.

Azulmagia was difficult for similar reasons. Doom, Death Claw, White Wind, and ???? appearing were either a game over or made things incredibly difficult. 10 Needle Cannons are exactly enough to do him in.
I wanted to bang because I tried out Needle Cannon(Gold needle+Blitzshot) on Calofisteri and Apanda(3000 base damage, unavoidable, non-reducible), except those 2 tests left me with 8 Gold needles, just 2 short of killign Azulmagia, so I had to walk all the way back out, restock, then go back.

Catastrophe took some luck and a bunch of Elixirs, but not too difficult.

Mini Cannon(Mallet+Blitzshot) has a straight 75% chance of inflicting Halicarnassus with Mini. That and a Reflect Ring made the fight a joke, and gave me a great screenshot.

Twintania I just waited until he charged for Gigaflare, then Chaos Cannon(Dark Matter+Blizshot) for the Instant Death.

Necrophobe was actually a joke once I figured out the trick. Chaos Cannon inflicts Instant Death on all 4 Barriers(not reflectable wink ), Dark Cannon(Ash+Blitzshot) makes his odds of hitting me nil, between Darkness, Main Gauche, and Elven Mantle. Then a Slow Cannon(Turtle Shell+Blitzshot) to slow him down. Even with this it still took a few tries to beat him.

The last Exdeath fight took some looking into his stats. I absolutely had to have a Main Gauche, Aegis SHield, Mirage Vest, and Hermes Sandals on(kept physical attacks blocked, and going fast). I noticed his Tree form is considered a Humanoid.

So I found the Killer Cannon(Fuma Shuriken+Blitzshot) does ~6000 damage to him a shot. I only had 4-5 Fuma Shurikens, and needed 10 to kill him.bang

Once I got those, I tried again. As long as Flare/Holy doesn't kill me, I can easily beat him. Magic Lamp(Odin) takes out part 4 as any solo. I noticed the part that uses Grand Cross is considered a Dragon. I have Dragon Cannon(Dragon Fang+Blitzshot) that does about 2x damage against Dragons. Only have 5 Dragon Fangs, need 10. I go farm a few from Shinryu(he's easy to farm Dragon fangs from once you have a good equip set-up and run ASAP).

So the strat for Exdeath is basically 10 Killer Cannons on tree, Magic lamp, 10 Dragon Cannons to eliminate his Grand Cross part. After that, the msot damaging Combin I have is Divine Cannon(Hero Cocktail+Blitzshot).

IIRC, it took(total) 10 Killer Cannons, 10 Dragon Cannons, and ~10-11 Divine Cannons to finally end him(I'll get an exact number when I do the fight again).

Was a fun run tbh. Level 50 was a bit low yeah, but he doesn't really need to be much higher, lol. I plan to go back and do the last fight again and record it this time, so I have an actual number of items needed(at level 50, obviously less if the level's higher).

Also, is there any progress as far as SCC Mime goes? If not too much, I might try that one next :P
