Cost me all war progress when growing up, but fought off the crusade in the end, using all the mercs I could buy etc.

Forces seemed mainly to be papal, with various odds and ends from other nations.

HRE have now declared for Menorca, and all the merc units are still injured, fought off initial attacks, but now faced with his S.O.D. so need to work out how to get the extra manpower to handle it.

Just wish they would all leave mealone so I can launch my wars.

Note we have 3 castles in Malaga, 2 in cordoba. I built a city in Granada before I thought of taking an extra castle there.

All the little enemies have been sniped off now, so its time to face the big guns next

The invasion mechanic is huge here: 500 piety to completely conquer a big gun, and that's enough gold to finance the mercs we would want.

Wow, I don't think I've ever had a purse that large. But I tend to spend it as soon as I get it when it comes to gold.

Looks like a better turnset than the first one! wink

Any game that relies on mercs needs a large war chest like that. It'll sustain up to 10k mercs for a long campaign.
