[SPOILER] Kyan + thestick. Is that the best you can do?

Of course, we have til midnight for our time slot anyhow. I'll be starting testing around 7ish. Can be on either Skype or gmail at 7:30 to discuss if you wanted. No worries if not.

Ok.

Summary of my first attempt:

Turn 33.
3 cities + 1 settler en route
3 workers (2nd city about to double pop whip another. Third city building one. eta 5 turns)
5 warriors
Roads in place to connect first two cities and almost complete to third.
All cities working improved food resource tiles only.
Second city building a workboat for third. However, I think we might want to change this bit.

All micro totally subject to copper/horses and further discovery of land.

Tech path:

Agri -> AH-> BW -> Wheel -> Pottery

Wait a second, how are all the cities working improved food resources if Haumea only has 3 (Fish, Rice, Sheep) and you're at Size 4, about to whip a Worker? Unless you moved the second city.

Looks good. I'm pretty sure I can't micro any better than those games.

Another thing, I found Ivory near that plains hill marked 'production?'. It might be a better spot for a third city than the clams coast.

City placement can still be altered as we discover more.

In the sim, 2nd city is size 3 working the three food, growing to 4 at end of turn in preparation for the whip.

We need to be really hot on the worker micro too as there is a lot of potential for lost worker turns here. Are you happy for me to play the save?

I tried the chopping plan again, rushed through it. Went Worker-Settler at Pluto without waiting for growth, then built a Worker from Haumea. Got Makemake settled on schedule, but don't have a settler ready for 4th city.

Have you tried simming Bronze Working just for completeness and to make sure the difference isn't just a skill level difference?

My plan above did involve chopping but not as heavily as your one I think. This is a good thing as it means that there's still more we can chop to push it ahead.

I didn't sim the BW first, no. This is because every part of my civ knowledge tells me we want that grassland cows pastured ASAP. Call it instinct or experience from doing more early game micro than is healthy hehe. It's 1 tile from the corn and we can begin pasturing it on the exact turn we finish the corn. Chopping and whipping are super strong but so are most resource tile yields. My plan had us working that farm and cows the entire time onwards, only whipping away grass mines.

Grass mines? I think that's where I'm falling behind. Haven't built anything except resource tiles. That, and not heavily whipping.

Okay, we're going with Animal Husbandry. Seems faster and I can't get Bronze Working that much better than it.

I built two. One was shared occasionally between capital and second city. Second was also shared potentially and was used when i temporarily was at size 4.

Will play now then mate smile
