Excellent points again, plako. We do want Pottery for granaries, but AH first might be necessary. At any rate, Hunting will have to wait.

Btw our gold city also looks very capable of building the Pyramids.

Anyone want to suggest a dotmap?

I would use 2*forests near gold to immediately chop Fast Worker and put our capital building settler i.e. use our workers to chop 2 forests while waiting for border pop unless we settle so that Corn is at 1st ring and could be improved immediately.

Also micro plan could be improved by 1 worker turn (farming wines converted to building road), if other worker pre-chops the 3rd ring forest instead of farming wines after farming Corn.

Yes, we can save 1 worker turn by prechopping instead of farming wines. But we can't road the wines, we won't have The Wheel in time.

I played on with Plako's suggestions, and the locations of our resources and workers sort of dictated the location of our third city:

The third city can work the gold while waiting for the borders to pop, the second city works corn and cows at size 2. Let's pray for horses somewhere within these borders.

Looking at Pling's sim, our cities are more developed in her sim but of course we're one city down. I think horizontal expansion makes sense initially, followed by quick vertical growth once we have granaries. Her placement of the second city is worth considering though, it gets the corn immediately, and even with creative it's a five turn wait on normal speed for borders to pop. We do spend those turns building a worker, so it's not completely wasted, but we should probably study both options more closely.

That is very ambitious settling there. It has potential, if we can somehow e.g. diplomatically secure the area. Maybe Hunting before AH, if that would be our 3rd city?

I think we need AH and Pottery first. That also lets us see horses before settling city #3. The third city can afford to wait for the deer.

When will we get AH? If we have horses, go for the aggressive settlement. If not, settle for copper. It would be nice if we don't have to commit (in terms of worker actions) before then.

If we settle copper third, 2S1E of the copper will block the plains hill where Vijayanagara (Indian for Strawberry Daiquiri?) is settled in that screenshot, which we may want to do to prevent Gillette from settling it.

If we settle copper fourth, 1S2E of the copper is perhaps an option, as it has a metric ton of forests to chop.
If you know what I mean.

I suggest moving 1SE with the scout next.

If our whole south and east is backline, pink-dotting Gillette becomes more attractive.

I was thinking NE-NE, but checking the real value of that plains hill is also good idea. And indeed this seems like our backyard so trying to grab land between us and Gillette is the way to go.
