Spoilers! Sian, Scourge of the Seven Seas

As for naming theme ... decided to go with Germanic tribes ... with their latin name

Capital is Cimbri, which was a people from the northen tip of Jutland in Denmark which wandered around in most of europe in late 2nd century BCE, demolishing several roman armies (estimates swing between 150-180k soldiers from rome and her allies) before being conquered in 101BCE by Gaius Marius

hardly tons of things happening ... move scout end turn, move scout end turn

got my worker out and have just this turn finished farming the corn, and it is now going north (farming on the way for efficientcy) to pasture the cows, followed by mining the hills (i'm imperialistic so hammers are great for when i start throwing out settlers)

got a bit of a pickle ... where to settle my first city going from what i know at the moment ... leaning slightly towards 4s1e of capital, picking up horses and elephants, while being able to steal the corn as needed for growth ... or maybe 3s2e is better, since that will pick up Bananas as well at some point

explored some more and marked off a good handfull of city sites

c8 is going to be my first city, for two reasons ... horses, and the ability to steal allready improved food from the capital when it goes on Settler/Worker duty

Second city, depending on if i find copper (next tech after wheel) ... maybe c4, given that it can reap 17h on size 6, and 18h when i get a lighthouse there ... certainly going to be my earlygame unit pump

other early cities is going to be c2 to support cottage growth, and prehaps c7 (depending on fog) for gold

My scout is backtracking to the northeastern egde of my known area (after having checked out my backyard to the northwest), and my second warrior is going southwest to help scouting that area to see if it is that empty that it appears to be or if i just missed a ton of resources just beyond the fogline

Teutones built in t22

The first two turns its using the Mine, and beginning in t24 it swaps the mine for Cimbri's Corn (which would mean that Cimbri grow's to size 5 in three turns, in which it builds 2 warriors from scratch 6+6+9h) ... and grow's in time for the horse pasture to be used by the second citizen, after the worker have finished the road between the cities (2commence is 2commence, and shared resources too)

When Cimbri grows to 5 it'll go back to the half finished worker it have in its box (dumped overflow hammers from the settler into it), and then it'll start hammering out settler/worker/settler/worker for some time.

have explored a tiny bit since last screenshot, and of interesting things found is corn 4 south of the marked c1 spot, and Clams 3n2e of c5 (and what i guess is another group of islands)

Currently researching Mystitism (finished in 3 turns, Teutones will finish the warrior it have started out in 4 turns, whereafter it'll build a monument) and afterwards i really need to get Bronze working, since i need the hill 2n of Cimbri mined

t26, met both my neighbours ... Shoot The Moon to the South, southeast and musicman to the east ...

interesting fact, musicman have allready warred Shoot the moon once ... so theres reasonable chances that if i sit out on it i can get the most of the land or even if the option shows itself, capture one of them (musicman is better for that objective since StM have Skirmishers)

having explored most of the island and i feel quite short sticked, resource wise

i've found 3 pigs (needs to explore a what's within Musicmans lands and the corner behind Shoot still) ... one deep in Shoots lands and 2 on the egde of Musicmans (one of them between them)

I've found 2 gold, one close to flood plain grassland in Shoots territory, one a good bit closer to Musicman than me (with the terrain between me and it worse than betweem him and the gold) and i highly suscept that theres one between Shoot and Musicman

And in general it appears to be more food, more centralized in good city spots near both of them ...

defending with a single warrior when you know that another player have chariots in your backyard is a bad idea Shoot ... *Yoink* ... grabbed one of his cities sitting between his front towards me and his capital ... and know he can't attack this first comming turn, so i have time to grab another chariot to fake out his front city so he doesn't throw stuff from that at it (i know his capital only have 2 warriors ... hardly the most dangerous stuff and he does have at least 1 Skirmisher on exploring duty (?!?) on the northwestern coast between us ... used the gold i stole from his city (55g) to upgrade the warrior in the closest city to an axe (59g) so he won't get any funny ideas.

while Mali is a good defender Civ due to their UU, its not looking great for Shoot ... he completely ignored settling his copper (i got a scout on it, which went around via the coast from music so i doubt he knows i'm even there with it), and he only just settled his horses a few turns ago so it'll take another 3-4 turns till he have that connected ...

Skirmishers are good defenders and early chokers, but they're not worth a heck of a lot against rampaging Chariots and Axes allready sitting on the logical choke points (got my upgraded axe sitting on my hill copper so he can't cut it off)

just completed teching Sailing, and my copper city is likely to build a Galley next to ship a settler over settling on an island, getting intercontinental trade routes smile
