Also if you didn't start boots you can always buy those.

Sir Bruce Wrote:Buying a defensive item for your match-up is a good idea if you're planning to build it anyway. Null magic mantle or cloth armor (+ a ward) is a great top lane buy. Agree on the cloth armor -- almost all top laners will be building either tabi or frozen heart. And yes, essentially there's no cost to going back at that time, as you can get back into lane without missing anything.

So I just played a Normal Blink Pick as Corki w/ Support Ali against an Ashe / Draven Lane. Basically they rolled over us with Draven's poke and Ashe's slow when they committed. I thought Ali+Corki's burst could overcome them, but they kept us low and forced back into the tower, making my life last-hitting miserable.
I'm curious what people's thoughts on how to play against a Draven player. He seems to have pretty good poke and spike damage when he unloads, and so seems like a solid kill-lane pick. And I haven't played against him much. Of course if you can close he has a much harder time since he has to keep catching his blades, but we never could seem to get a good trade going. Or I could simply fail as a Corki Player (really need to work on farming under own tower). And Ali did give up FB by standing in the brush behind the creep wave. And our Jungle Cho never ganked our lane...
