Yeah, avoiding bad data is going to be important in these functions. That's in large part why I haven't added many of them yet, and marked them too. We also want to go from reliable data to less reliable.
I'm thinking of setting up another sheet similar to the tech sheet, for unit tallies (and maybe one for buildings as well). That would include the power values of each unit and building, and then we could make the Power sheet more into an overview of our knowledge.
Drawing from the Demos sheet would also be nice, if only for finding the differences between assigned and unassigned values, and making sanity checks (eg if the population numbers we include are over the max/average values for demographics, and similar for power as well).

And, just like that, CFC tells us not only that they have an C&D department, but who heads it as well.

Sounds like someone has been reading too much Raymond Feist.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I've been doing some expansion of the C&D sheets, but have found some limitations in Google Docs, alternatively in my knowledge:
- Hiding columns or rows â useful for old turns et c
- Selecting the last value in an array, eg pick the most recent value from demos
I'd also like some input on how to organise an infrastructure/building sheet. I think we should base that on cities instead of entire teams, but I'm not sure on the best way to set things up.
Then the power tab would draw in confirmed values from the other sheets, and we can probably add in conjectures on units and buildings there.

Just about the only time he posts it looks like is in the private forum (only 6 of his 268 posts are publicly viewable, and they're all about setting up the DG), so there's no way to find out how good he is at C&D. Maybe a Locke immitator?

Doubt he's a Locke-wannabe. Anyway, this is only the first real attempt I've done at C&D myself, and no-one seems to have complained about my efforts so far. But if he's read several earlier PB and PBEM threads here, he has had the opportunity to pick up as much as me.
As for delving deeper into the guy, that probably violates the no-out-of-game spying rule.

just select the columns in the column header row, click the dropdown menu arrow, and select hide.
I have to run.

T18 - 3280 BC
Demos:
Cliff's Notes: Two score increases, besides us. CivFr researched Hunting, and CFC reached 2 pop. Univers built a warrior.
Average GNP rose by 1, probably since CFC picked up a second 3F1C-tile.
Global soldiers rose 5000, of which 1000 comes from CFC gaining a pop point. 4000 remains to be assigned. Our increase from 7000 to 9000 meant we went from #5 to #3 in the ranking.
Global pop increase fits with a civ going from 1 to 2 pop.
CivFr gained their new tech in 7 turns, and it was an undiscounted one. They had 5b overflow from Agriculture, and may have picked up a few more (I think some teams may have riverside grains). I'm pretty confident they've researched Hunting, adding 2000 in power, since Fishing would make little sense.
Who built the warrior?
CivFr increased their power from 7k to 9k, and we are #3 in power now, behind CivFr and Apolyton. Thus WPC didn't build the warrior, since that would put them too at 9k.
Spanish and CFC has been at 2hpt, and would need 8t to build their warriors, which would arrive T20. Apolyton, the Germans, CivFr, and CivPlayers has built warriors recently.
That leaves Univers. They had a T6 warrior, and then continued with a second until T9, putting 9H into it. Then they finished their worker on T17, and worked 5F6H for that turn, finished their warrior.

I had even checked there, but I apparently suck at finding stuff in context menus.

Did you assign 2000 Power for CivFr getting Hunting? That's a tech that comes with power rating attached to it. I'm not going to touch the sheet until I hear whether you did or not.
It's definitely Hunting tech - they can only get Hunting or Fishing in 7t, and as you said Fishing makes no sense with these starts.
