I think Pottery-Fishing might be better than Fishing-Pottery.

What do you plan to do with Pottery? In my tests I did feel feel Granaries could be postponed a bit, so only benefit was that I could land couple of cottage turns here and there instead of farm turns when moving Fast workers from west to east?

I need to try a sim to see if fishing can be snuck in, but in my tests I started cottages and granaries the minute I had pottery. Granary first in third city, and granary while growing to size 2 in second city.

I think saving a few beakers on pottery is irrelevant compared to snowballing faster.

How viable is it for us to hit GLH? Relative to the other teams.

I'm really bad at guesstimating the viability of Wonders.

2nd city is only one benefitting from earlier pottery when after Fast worker it could start with Granary instead of another Fast worker or Warrior. However at the moment I like 2* Fast worker opening there most.

3rd city is founded so late that it can start immediately Granary with Fishing-Pottery opening.

Thinking back, that's what I did too. So if that means fishing can come first that's probably a good idea.

What are your conclusions regarding the location of our third city?

I've only tested the GLH place settled on plains hill and it feels slow. Wheat and crabs are bad food tiles. Especially when we probably want to double whip the Lighthouse so that max overflow goes to GLH that delays getting Crabs to 5 food. Every forest there should be preserved for GLH and there is still quite a few hammers that need to come elsewhere. So far in my best approach I got the GLH in double whip range on T67 (T66 possible at least with chopping 3rd ring forest) when it would finish without whip on T70.

I've 2 fast workers there initially they build road so that settler can move to plains hill and settle on same turn. They improve 1st copper and wheat 2nd and start pre-chopping and mining the forested hill.

Builds are Granary - WB - Lighthouse (2 pop whip - max overflow T62) - GLH. We need also warrior as happy police there ~T65 when 2nd growth to size 4 occurs.

Plan draft for the city #2 and #3 assuming GLH run
Techs: Wheel - Fishing (T35) - Pottery (T42) - Sailing

T34: city settled - 0% science (could be 2 turns here also since we need to run another 0% turn on T38)

T37: chop 2*forests

T38: put 1 chop on forest and road towards gold (0% science)

T39: all workers mining gold

T40: Mine ready utilise it - Put 1 chop on Forest

T41: Road gold, chop forest and farm corn

T42: Finish road on gold with 2*workers do cottage near capital

T43: move another worker towards capital (worker turn lost) and other one roading towards city #3. 2 workers farming corn. (ignore 0% science from rest of the pictures. I did forget to set it back on 100% after collecting gold)

T44:

Eventuaally this leads to GLH landing on T66 after all forests has been chopped in BFC of city #3 (No third ring forests used). Last part is finished with 2 pop whip

This is risky plan. Bit more safer is to postpone GLH couple of turns and finish most of the chops on last turn so that they won't go waste in case we lose the race. Some kind of whip trick e.g. whipping axe and putting overflow on GLH might work better than whipping GLH itself. Haven't tested this.

Turn 66 is pretty decent, it's tempting to try for that.
