I wish I could get a better read on everything, but the general consensus of voting seems to be somewhat baseless and influenced by nitpicking of words, which scares me since I'm not always the best phraser of what I say.
That said, pretty much everything tansuke has said has been very bewildering, and he seems to be overcompensating trying to get people off of his back, so he's my current vote for a NAPpy to be lynched.

Just caught up with the thread, and yeah, lots of weirdness.
Having read all of Tasunke's crazy talk, I also find it kind of hard to believe that he's a member of the NAP- he's going out of his way to make himself conspicuous, plus surely the other wolves would reign him in. I suppose he could be a sacrifice wolf, but that seems like an awfully desperate gambit for Day One, and I don't see what the advantage could be. Considering how many easy votes are piled on him compared with the runner-up, voting for Tasunke would be an awfully poor way for a wolf to try to gain deep cover.
However, I think there's reasonable odds that he's a member of a 3rd faction, based on the evidence already noted by a few other posters:
* As I and others now have pointed out, the village win condition certainly allows for the existence of other groups.
* Assuming he's telling the truth, Meiz's role implies that there could be some sort of Planet presence.
* Tasunke was typing a lot of awfully suspicious things to Meiz, which could be interpreted as a clumsy attempt to recruit him, or just an over-eager inadvertent reveal of his identity.
That said, I could also easily see the situation where Tasunke is simply mostly nuts, and is interested in making references to the setting and role-playing to the detriment of helping the village or even his own self-preservation.
I'm not really convinced of Tasunke's guilt. The existence of a third faction isn't actually confirmed, and while Tasunke certainly hasn't been doing himself any favors, his posts (including to Meiz) are really deep in "would a wolf seriously ever do this" territory. Still, I originally voted for him because he was posting distracting, useless fluff- and he still is. And he's certainly more suspicious than anyone else, making him a better candidate by default. Also, if he acts like this in every game, then his making himself a leading lynch target doesn't necessarily exonerate him of being some variety of enemy, especially if he's a serial killer / recruiter, without packmates to keep him in check. So I'm keeping my vote on him.

So I guess the general consensus is that I am either guilty or mentally deranged.

I think there is too much support fora Tasunke lynch for him to be NAP, and I think we should hold off on theories about other factions until we know more. I'm keeping my vote on Molach for the same reasons as before, he's displayed a preference for stealth wolf play. As such, he will be difficult to root out if he is indeed NAP.

Also concerning Tasunke, the one game where he tried to appear sane we almost lynched him for it So he's somewhat excused for being as deranged as always.

Came across this on the re-read, but not quite sure what to make of it. Initial thoughts are that it seems more likely Tasunke is just a villager, because I can't imagine someone calling another person out on a fake nameclaim and then turning around to do the same thing themself.

I may be mistaken, but I think Injera is playing as Cha Dawn (leader of the Planet Cult faction), who in Planetfall (and I guess SMAC) is the self-appointed but still human "Voice of the Planet". Def. Mindworm friendly, but not actually an alien. Not quite the same as what Tasunke was initially implying to Meiz.

Firstly: 8 votes out of 20 doesn't seem that many that there is any reason to suspect that those are too many for him to be NAP in my opinion. If we expect around 30% Nappies, we would have 6 NAP-members. That would mean that slightly over 50% of the remaining villagers vote for him if NONE of the Nappies would vote him. Doesn't seem that unlikely taking into account his play up to now.
Secondly: At this point it seems for me that lynching Tasunke is actually a good play to get more knowledge on the topic of a possible 3rd faction. Which in itself seems knowledge worth pursuing imo.
Putting those two thoughts of myself together, I am not sure I can even remotely agree with anything you wrote catwalk. But maybe I misunderstood you? Rephrasing your post in my words sounds like:
"We should not lynch Tasunke because he clearly is no Nappie because too many players vote for him. And we also should not lynch him on the ground of him being maybe part of a 3rd faction before we do not know more about this possible 3rd faction."
You see how especially the last part contradicts itself? Because imo the easiest way to find out more about a possible 3rd faction is to lynch the one player who acted all the time like he belongs to exactly that 3rd faction.

I do think 8 out of 20 with no real competitor is significant. I think day 1 wolf land slides has only happened much in multi-wolf faction games. And I think most players in the game have seen Tasunke acting up previously, it shouldn't come as a surprise. As for getting info on other factions, I agree that hanging him is one way to find out, but I think we will get more info soon enough at which time we can easily revisit him.
I'm not particularly opposed to a Tasunke lynch (mainly for sake of getting information on a potential 3rd faction), but I'd prefer Molach over him.
