Brick, I am not concerned with finding 3rd faction. I know Pindicator said so but read MY posts instead. I talk about them as a vague possibility but conclude otherwise. Selrahc is the Xenophobe.

Eh, you do talk about it a decent amount, and a lot about the names as well, more so names than factions really.

At this point I'm just ready to see what happens with novice though, as that's the direction that will actually get us somewhere in finding the wolves, which I really don't think the name-finding will help with.

Woops, glad I checked by before leaving: novice lol

At the risk of getting ahead of myself, I went through novice's posts, and put a quick summary. This really was cursory and quickly done so there may be holes, but I think it also points to a possible day 3 target. I'm assuming serdoa is telling the truth and novice is indeed going to flip scum because his last post looks like someone giving up. So in the spoiler is my summary of his posts (reads most recent to earliest):

554 - gives up

546 - tries to continue to defend

543 - accuse serdoa of circular logic
prefers to lynch zak or brick

521 - attacking serdoa's accusation

520 - defend's serdoa by contrasting serdoa's push of him against his take down of zakalwe. Pokes holes in serdoa's case

508 - laughs at zak 506
tells qgqqqqq that he was last in revealing names because he was against revealing names from the start

505 - talks about molach
"either a genuine villager or a wolf who's extremely adept at backpedaling", thinks molach is village with flawed assumptions
suspicious that slowcheetah claimed to be Lal
questions Qgqqqqq's attack on him
asks waterbat how wolves would know catwalk had a vig shot?
votes zakalwe

447 - name claims Sinder Roze of the Data Angels

427 - quotes serdoa to correct a name list

426 - investigates me, and says I have little content, puts me on the spot to analyze catwalk's posts (nice touch, that)
votes against maniac

412 - agrees that names don't coincide with alignment
counter-attacks serdoa

403 - busy at work

401 - wants people to stop name claiming; (no reason to believe this isn't genuine village help / i don't think this had an impact on balance)

--== NIGHT ONE ENDS ==--

--== DAY ONE ENDS ==--

306 - corrects a vote talley

303 - corrects a vote talley

267 - responds to waterbat's attacks on lewwyn

251 - responds when day 1 ends (answering lewwyn)

226 - "i guess we need to start making up our minds"
votes thestick

202 - helping qgqqqqq with his color tags

198 - helping qgqqqqq with his color tags

187 - asks tasunke about mindworms

181 - asks tasunke why he needs to have a conversation about a name claim

180 - laughs at lewwyn's comments about tasunke
singles out molach as a good poster
pushes selrahc for a vote

107 - subtle push on injera - "can pick up his ears"
bob should rp more
quotes lewwyn - "why aren't posts making sense"
quotes sareln - calls his vote forced
quotes zak - needles his "joke vote"
votes selrahc - "helpful villager teaching protown advice followed by meta speculation"

64 - funny jkaen
quotes catwalk - defensive
quotes maniac - pokes holes in his attack

50 - quotes zak - why vote for me?

49 - quotes zak & waterbat - laughs about WW14
quotes bob -
asks if there are aliens in the SMAC universe

11 - quotes pindicator - can't even prove his innocence now
@thestick - why 12 packs?
@injera - who are you RPing?
@maniac - are you friend of sareln?
* People novice votes against: DAY 2 - zakalwe (505), maniac (426); DAY 1 - thestick (226), selrahc (107)
* People he attacks or pushes suspicion toward: DAY 2 - slowcheetah (505), pindicator (426); DAY 1 - tasunke (187, 181), selrahc (180), injera (107), sareln (107)

Whoops, forgot the second half of the post...

Some things that stand out and again, this may be getting ahead of myself, but I think catching the first scum is a great way to catch subsequent scum (for example, how Injera led to Slowcheetah last game). Here what stands out to me is how thestick plays into all this. On day 1 novice votes for thestick after the Tasunke has a large vote lead and gives this reasoning:

novice Wrote:I guess we need to start making up our minds. It feels like people are voting Tasunke mostly for lack of a better alternative, which is... fair enough, I suppose. However, I think I'll throw my lot in with the Thestick voters instead - Thestick had something odd going on with Molach earlier related to lurker voting and singling out Molach because he didn't vote for Waterbat. Even if Waterbat would have been a candidate satisfying Molach's scumhunting criteria, Molach still had 20 other candidates to choose from.

Not odd in itself. But what is odd is that novice does not mention thestick once in Day 2. As if his top day 1 candidate suddenly falls off the radar for no reason, when other people (and I forget who) are saying thestick has gotten more suspicious. Could novice have been parking a vote on a fellow wolf while it was safe, just to be able to point back to a voting record if he was targeted later on?

What's suspicious to me also about thestick is how he has pretty much disappeared in day 2. Day 1 he was super active and I thought just being over-eager since he was newer. But his decline in posting in Day 2 is very noticable, and the combination of that and novice's vote makes me think we should investigate thestick more.

Heh, seems like we think alike lol. Here's what I gathered:

Pind start by voting novice, "Gonna vote novice since he always seems to be a wolf lately". Instant first thought was inside joke :D

Zak made totally random vote on novice, easy to change later. Followed by Bob, who had more valid (and IMO villagerish) reason behind his vote.

Novice throws slight dirt on Sareln, http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showpost....tcount=107
But votes Selrahc and I don't see him speaking of Sareln after that (?)

Vote (seems like excuse) against thestick, http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showpost....tcount=226 Votes at that point were:

tasunke(7) - Lewwyn, zakalwe, serdoa, bobchillingsworth, mattimeo, thestick, Selrahc
thestick (2)- molach, tasunke
molach - Catwalk
Sareln - Injera,
Qgqqqqqq - Maniac,
Maniac - waterbat
Novice - Pindicator
Lewwyn - meiz
mattimeo - jkaen
seralhc - novice
Meiz - Sareln
Slowcheetah - Qgqqqqq

So if there's a number of wolves not voting Tas at that moment, voting for a fellow wolf would be really safe at this point. X-posting with pindicator and looks like I'm not the only one thinking that.

I don't have time right now, but it will be interesting to see how the voting goes on from this point forward, as in, does it seem to be crafted that thestick does no end up tied or on top with Tas.

Throws slight dirt on Pindicator, but votes Maniac with (IMO) bad reasons, http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...post282627

Qgqqq makes a strange accusation against novice, and novices reactions are http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...post282935 and http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...post282945

For me it feels genuine enough to think that Qgqqq is not a wolf with novice.

His comments for Molach don't seem "crafted discussion" either, which gives me a small village vibe on Molach.

At the end (but before Serdoa's reveal) he has quite a lot of pressure, so he says Zak and BRick as his biggest suspects. Kind of thinking a wolf might want to throw couple of names there so that the village can over-analyze them if/when his role is revealed later. Nothing major, but just an idea that popped in my head lol

Nah, not sure what I was thinking. It's safe even if there would be more wolves on the Tas voters. So my point was, it was a safe vote to make, in case thestick would be a wolf bang

Well, glad I'm not the only one thinking like this Meiz lol Last game I got jumped on for being "too quick" to think about what a lynch turning someone as scum might mean.

I agree Qgqqqqq is looking village. Between his attacks on novice and novice's back on him. Now, we can't assume novice wouldn't stage something like this, especially after last game. But right now that's less plausible; more plausible is Qgqqqqq is village and novice was reacting to pressure.

I think slowcheetah also gets a village lean, because novice was trying to kick dirt up on him on post 505. That really does look a like try-hard reasoning that novice gives, the whole "slowcheetah is curious because Bigger made Lal an NPC". Bigger takes literary license to make all of our characters (and nameless characters) talk; that doesn't mean they are off limits for us to be assigned them. I don't think novice had quite so much heat on him at this point as he does later, but the reasoning just seems so forced that I don't want to commit to slowcheetah as being village entirely.

Back.

So, Serdoa's the seer? novice

Other possibilities are that a) he's the fool b) he's an NAP and is lynching novice to get super-deep cover (he can only get alignment, not powers) or c) he's a villager and is desperately hoping that novice is actually a wolf. I'm willing to take Serdoa at his word, though.

The reason you waited on claiming seer is to see how people would react to your logic, right?

In response to accusations that I haven't said anything original, I'm sorry, but I can't seem to generate any reads on anyone. As far as I can tell, everyone's a villager. I know it's not true, but I can't really tell the difference between 'weird' and 'wolf,' especially since acting weird is apparently a sign of being a villager. Apparently the only things I can do well are ask questions, make observations, and look for logical errors. I'll try to get a read soon...
