Final comment about name claims. I found it a bit suspicious that Slowcheetah claimed to be Lal, since Bigger is treating Lal as an NPC in his writeups. It would be more suspicious if we suspected an invented fake claim over a safe claim provided by the GM, though.

Concluding that Lal isn't in the game because Bigger used him in his flavor writeups seems like a bad line of reasoning, mainly because deriving something like that from a flavor writeup goes against my belief that you can't extract much from flavor. Is there some sort of SMAC-related reason why Lal would be next to the captain when the captain died?

I waited because I hoped that people would jump onto novice without my reveal. After all, I did scan him night 1, that means he was suspicious enough for me on Day 1. Seems I was the only one though. Or rather I got unlucky with the timing due to the US getting up late.

Imo you shouldn't. Because it wasn't bad in itself. As you yourself state in a post a little bit later:
