Hmm. I was taking your use of "tagged" to be slang for "killed", but I understand what you mean about the note. We shouldn't make assumptions about who killed what based on flavor text though.
Moving back to Jkaen then.

Wtf... I never intended that the speculation would end up in the game thread.

10000% agreed. Selrahc and Zakalwe (later vote counts, right?). From metagame speculation stand point I'd be voting Molach / Sareln, but metagame has not worked that well before. So I'll rather go with the classic wolf hunting and vote persons I feel are not doing their best to help us catch wolves.
Serdoa for mayor.
Injera Wrote:I've been thinking about the two kills. Assuming it wasn't a vig, the first "dream" we received was the same night Meiz and I received our new powers. Q, the recipient of that dream, died the next night, and now we get another dream. Also, crucially Q was not tagged by the NAP. It's speculation, but does anyone else see that the Neighbors-Dreams-Second Kill all could all be related to with some sort of mind worm faction/serial killer that emerged during Night 2?
I tend to overthink these things, but I think it makes a lot of sense. Agreed. My ability does not make much sense otherwise. I think serial killer is much more likely theory than recruiter. Sending dreams fits to mindworms IMO.

On day 3, I firmly believe I talked to the name-seer. He told me he scanned Mardoc and the result was "Drone". He is looking for Maar. I will also reveal his other scan: Night 1, he scanned Serdoa is who he say he is. (name wise)
If I am still alive - we can talk more. I expect the person I talked to day 2 to verify my story if I am still alive - else I will give them up.

You know, this all seems rather convenient.
Night 1 your supposed seer, out of 20 possibilities, scanned Serdoa, who we all are pretty sure anyway he isn't lying.
Your day 2 contact dies.
So basically there's no one around to falsify your claim about being an empath. No one to claim their name is not what your seer scanned this is, and no one alive to say you didn't really have a conversation with them.
Given this, I really am wary to trust you with the planetary governorship.

So your plan was to confront your suspect about it, but not tell anyone else?
Now let me get your mindworm theory straight: first you receive a dream, and on the following night you die? Seems like a pretty ridiculous extrapolation from one pair of events. Not to mention that the message Q received had exactly nothing to do with mindworms, while the message Brick (claims to have) received is rife with planetary lore. Why so eager to file away Q's message as a mindworm-related phenomenon?
Reading this:
"Once upon a time there were a group of people and they didn't became gods and they died//end//cessation. Then they woke up. There are now 80 millions of souls on Planet. Their are 80 million burning eyes starring into the world god. Theyre gang agley. Swarm and swerm and sweever over us. The swarm. Like pustuous boils. The centre can'tnot hold. Push we. Push we. Children rage. Our children your Children. Sound and fury. We ride a glor'us wave into a harbor. The fat duck croaks his assent. The electric webs trap we in their net. Snicker snack. Prune? Shear? Push.
Earthyang. We am planet. We... Am.. I. Am We."
My immediate thoughts are that there are two people in this game liable to write a passage like this: Bigger, and Selrahc. For now I am leaning towards this message being flavor injected by Bigger, as foreshadowing, or simply a way to gradually reveal game mechanics.

I'm going to have to retract this. Going with Maniac, for the reasons I stated last night. *downs wine*

I don't think it matters really, since I suspect the person sending the messages is not playing for the village win.

Amongst the corpse we discovered a small chip apparently imparted with memories. However most have been wiped in the explosive wave of electricity that had doomed her.
Quote:...Aki-Zeta stared into Space, her hands knotted with tension.
She knew, she just knew she was right. It fitted all the facts, the greatest puzzle she had ever encountered, and her analytical brain liked puzzles.
But still it was done, her drones were already on the move. That moronic Thinker had been caught, but he was hardly a loss. More interesting had been his discoveries about the mysterious Him. He had somehow had the power to grant her pawn a name!
Unthinkable! All her drones were required to surrender their names when they were***8230; implanted.
And how He had had the power to grant it, and even chronicle it publicly***8230;
So, she had asked herself ***8211; who would be allowed to move unnoticed amongst them, who could have planted these mysterious clues and slain so many.
Who indeed had they kept a room intact for his use in reverence to his sacrifice so long ago.
Once she realised this ***8211; that the answers were impossible while the questions were wrong.
This made the lynch (such an uncultured word, likening them to some lowly villagers) of that vile NAP all the more delightful ***8211; that in the moment of his demise he left a clue as retribution to the ***8220;Supreme Overlord***8221; who had failed to protect him.
The only one none had bothered to consider seriously***8230;
***8220;Big-ger,***8221; a bestial moan startles Aki and she swings around to see a silky shadow dis-attach itself from the wall.
Beside it looms a mutant NAP, clutching in a massive paw a Probe droid that she had dispatched earlier.
Her eyes widen in horror ***8220;You came the closest but as you have discovered, there are disadvantages to a secretive nature.***8221; Aki Zeta was already moving calling on her Command Nexus***8217; security measures to engage with her nemesis.
He just stood there, smirking, ***8220;Oh come now my dear friend you must know that wouldn***8217;t work,***8221; The NAP leered and hefted a mass of sparking wires in the other paw.
Aki lunged for her ermengecy flamer but the NAP hurled her beloved Matrix at her. Aki-Zeta screamed as her machine half overloaded. The NAP watched her like a dog straining on a leash
***8220;Oh very well***8221; Bigger smiled and the NAP hurled itself at her.
Then the holo went black.

waterbat Wrote:Earlier I had posted that I was still waiting for zakalwe to start his hunting. I'm still waiting. I expected more from you given the recent revelations.
Im aware of the time zone issue - but when you get up, I would like to know your thoughts on the double kill, whether you doubt my claim now that it is out there. Also - i automatically doubt anyone who goes to bed a few minutes before deadline... I mean, its called "DEADline" for a reason - this is virtual life or death here.
I have small kids, and usually I'm awake at several points during the night. So I often check the night results from my phone, then. I still reserve the right to "hit the sack", in the sense of going 9-10 hours without posting. I am devoting as much time and attention to this game as I can spare. If that's not enough for you, you can either keep "waiting", or sack up and present a real argument for why I'm scummy.
One of these games I'm going to draw a line in the sand and flat out refuse to write paragraphs like the above, because they really should not be necessary, and none of that is even remotely any of your business. Sadly, it seems like I can never quite muster the courage to do so.
About your actual questions, I found your claim quite convincing, because I don't think you would promise us two live players to back up your story, if you could not actually deliver on that promise. So you're probably telling the truth.
About the double kill. I thought Molach's idea of a double NAP kill seemed plausible enough, but Injera has a point about the flavor text possibly indicating otherwise. So maybe there is a serial killer. I don't think he kills by sending out fake "datajack" messages, though.

Well, at least it was something to laugh about. Laughter was appreciated after the horrific scene the group had awoken to this morning.
âIâm telling youâ Yang insisted, âPlanet talked to me last night. It was⦠so real, yet so unreal. I donât really know what it was trying to say, but I tell you: I wonât make fun of Dierdre anymore.â
âYouâre still drunk, Yang,â said a young drone from a nearby table. âMaybe you should lay off that moonshine Sven makes.â
The room erupted in laughter, and Yang glared at him threateningly.
âUmm, excuse me, sir,â said the drone, remembering his place.
Santiago Spoke up: âOh leave him alone, Yang. Besides, heâs right â you must eaten something last night that didnât agree with you. Why just last month I had some field rations that reallyâ¦.â
Santiago stopped mid-sentence. In fact, everyone stopped what they were doing. Someone dropped some books he was carrying, which created a loud thud sound that no one heard. Something, or someone, was attempting to communicate with everyone in the room telepathically. This is the message that they all heard:
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Cross-posted with this, and I agree.
What do you think of my theory that Bigger sent the second message?
