OK, that works.

I say stay put for spawn-busting.

Anyway, I think I worked out why we see so many barbs: the map is listed as Huge, but at 84x52 tiles and 2868 land tiles, we probably have at least 25% or so fewer land tiles than we should. If number of barbs on the map is tied to the formal map size, then we get a very high number of barbs per tile.

Only the tile 1NW of cows is affected by moving the western warrior, and I actually think the panther is spawnbusting that tile.

I think, although I'm not certain, that barbarian spawning is only affected by the numbers of tiles, rather than the mapsize.

What are the odds if the panther attacks the warrior on the hill 1E with the river crossing penalty? If its still above 95% move it there.

It just occurred to me that with that many animals we should keep in mind the possibility of woody 2 warriors.

The combat odds when defending behind a river and on a hill are 95.5%. The combat odds on the forested hill tiles are 99.1%.

I still believe that we should keep the warriors in their current spots on the forested hills. By moving to the bare hill tile, we go from losing 9 outcomes out of 1000 to losing 45 outcomes out of 1000. That's five times worse, a fairly big deal. I don't really see the purpose of lowering our current odds to have a unit on hand for cleanup duty. There's also a fairly high chance that the panther will simply move off to the north and not attack.

Still won't play until later today, but I'm going to need a more substantial argument to move those warriors from their current spots.

I am also of the opinion of staying on the forested hills with both warriors.

Yeah, with that large difference it's better to stay put and fortify.
