Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

Idea: can we ask them as a favor to go SW next turn to share info on the land there? We will promise in exchange to share other info later on or whatever. Do you guys think this is a reasonable request? This way we have an extra turn. Since we accept the NAP and tell them we want to be friends, they can hardly refuse...

The wording in these messages sounds fine to me. Let's get a final draft and send it off.

Thanks scooter.

Any comments on asking them to move SW?

I agree, let's get this message sent. We can catch up on scouting once our WCs are out, and I'd rather not slow our super-fast start having to build a warrior at this point. If we can put them off with words for now, we'll be better for it later. The NAP, if loosely worded, will work both directions, so I don't fear that very much.

I think what Ruff said above is most likely, that they would in any event want to scout our city's center tile for C&D. Too much to be gained. They would certainly just decline, saying that they only want viability and will be shortly on their way. Nothing lost by asking, but they're unlikely to agree.

What do we do if they do march their Warrior 2T from us, even with the NAP on though? If we don't build a warrior, there's that miniscule possibility that CFC might think "Empty capital, there's a NAP so they won't 2T a warrior, let's just march in and eliminate a rival from the game".

That's a risk. Either we hedge or we hope.

We can move Xenu SW from the where he protects the worker on T33 or T34. After all, there is another unit spawn-busting to the east of us now, so I'm less worried about uncovering our worker.

Is someone sending a message?

I keep thinking about this situation. I don't think CFC would want to antagonize us even though they may eliminate us if they have a chance. I am therefore thinking about asking them point blank of not moving towards our capital. We can just tell them the truth: we can defend but we would have to shift units around and we would prefer not to do that. This along with accepting the NAP.
