he said he protects his target from night actions, which is a baner - not that he also prevents the target from doing night-actions, as a jailer does.

Molach, I don't think a limited shot watcher is game breaking. A normal seer just has to target any wolf, a watcher has to target a single player (usually). Without more information about the setup I don't think it's a good idea to accuse thestick with metagame arguments. We have no idea what BRick means with less common roles, really. He did specify that the classic roles wouldn't be in, that's all we have to go on. If additional setup information suggests their roles are unlikely, we can lynch them then. Also, both having power roles they're somewhat likely to be eaten. If they both live another 6 days or so and don't help hang wolves, we hang them. I think both are weak choices today.

thestick, if you don't defend yourself you're probably going to hang. I know you're busy, but you're basically surrendering right now.

Crossposting with Bigger: That is a good point. Mattimeo, I would also like to know exactly what your role does.

I don't know what to think with the claims. How possible is it for a mafia member to have a power role like the ones Mattimeo and thestick claimed? I'm thinking not very likely, especially without a seer.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Of course, they could be lying.

Two-shot watcher seems like one of the most powerful roles that you might plausibly expect to find in this game, given the hints we've been given about the setup.

Strange coincidence, that.

I'm not sure I'd say the claim is scummy in itself, but I think it's too little, too late.
If you know what I mean.

watcher and baner are both traditionally village roles. more likely if either is scum they are faking the claim, although it is possible for either ole to be scum.

Merovech, both of those would be very useful mafia abilities. Protecting a target from all night abilities protects against scrying abilities and vig shots, watching a target lets you identify power roles.

Granting immunity from all night actions is not what a traditional baner does. A baner only protects against kills.

thestick, now would be a good time to post your thoughts about the game. I know it's only day 1 but your lack of doing this is my biggest suspicion of you. The fact you havent given any thoughts in your recent posts isn't helping either
