Does anybody know how easy it is to pass around save files for this yet?

Playing with the zoltan ship, and its nice and easy until you hit 2 shields and your beam cant cut through anymore, than it gets much more tricky
I've found the game to be really fun but quite hard. I haven't been able to beat the boss yet (only made it through the first half). Though, to be fair, I've lost more than once because I got distracted by somethign else for a moment and forgot to pause. That's a recipe for death!

And fun too even though there are ...embetterments waiting. For one, after 19 games I have now beat the game twice. Both times with Engi cruiser, once I learned to play that it rocks. Got close with starting ship but no dice yet. Blasters are actually probably OP at taking down shields.
In Soviet Russia, Civilization Micros You!

Once you "Quit & Save" from the game, FTL creates a "continue.sav" file in the directory "username/Documents/My Games/Faster than Light/". Upon continuing the game that file is deleted by the game, but of course you can make a manual backup before that and probably pass it on to somebody else I would imagine. In a way backing up this file can be used as a manual save feature since you can always copy it back to the original location in case you die (though that method is probably regarded as being against the spirit of the game by some people). Copying around savegames would also make it possible to save several different games at once, i.e. if you have saved the game but want to show it to a friend from the beginning.
Can somebody post a save with the stealth or mantis ships, I want to test if its possible to play a game as a ship you have not unlocked yet
I don't have these ships unlocked, sorry.
But there is also a prof.sav file in that directory, which is the player profile with things like achiements and ships according to http://ftlwiki.com/wiki/Prof.sav So if the save file alone doesn't work, savegame and profile together would be another possibility. |
