WW16: The Outlaws and The Olives

Since I got to a device now with copy pasting, I updated inserting his role pm. Here it is again for visibility:

Quote:Villager - You are a normal villager. You have decided to stand up to the mafia, and to do what it takes to root them out from your beloved town. However, you realize that you risk death in doing so, and that you are likely to be forced to embrace it.
Win Condition - You win with the village when all mafia are dead and there is at least one villager alive.

I really should read (and think) before I post.

My initial response was, by looking at the role was that it sounded right and that we were having one of those games (like we had in the past, I'm sure) where the GM didn't reveal the roles of villagers as they died - just said they were villagers and redacted the other bit.

Then I remembered the village blood brothers and I'll just shut the fuck up.

Nothing to see here, just a stupid, impulsive belief that I'd caught people out.

Can you please knock it off with "WTF where did Catwalk go???"

I told you earlier that I'd be at a birthday party all day and would be home late. I got through the door 10 minutes ago and have had a great day. I'm happy to see you had a blast too in my absence. Too much to comment on, so I'll just do one:

TT, Merovech lied about his claim. It was a horrible claim. Attacking it made pretty good sense.

Also, bad break for The Village ™ again. Sucks that Merovech flipped villager, we're falling behind. I do think he did a poor job defending myself, what pinged me the most was his comment about dismissing accusations casually because he knew he was villager.

TT did you even read my post explaining why the role was bad...

There's a silver lining. Wolves would have to assume Mero was telling the truth, so if Catwalk is a villager, those who were arguing that Mero was lying seem pretty villagerish to me.
I have to run.

I wouldn't have worked too hard on defending you either if I were him. wink

I'm not sure I understand this.

Wolves wouldn't need to think he's telling the truth, just vote for him to make him swing.

And those who were saying that he was lying were using that lie as justification to lynch him.

Both have the same intent, wanting him to be lynched so I don't know how it can look villagerish?

If Catwalk is a villager, scum don't care who hangs. So why draw attention to yourself by arguing against a claim that will be confirmed to be true when Mero flips?

That didn't work out... I was hoping that since I was obviously pinging everyones scumdar I would just draw a night kill. I figured, hey, here's a role we haven't seen in a while, let's make it weaker. Guess that wasn't as clever as I thought. GG all.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
