WW16: The Outlaws and The Olives

Come morning, a bloodstained note was found blowing around the village square.

Quote:I am a whisper through the trees, a shadow on the wall.
I have practiced, have toiled, to make my eyes sharp and my presence unseen.
I know the forces of evil abound, and I have dedicated myself to finding their plans and their deeds.
This mafioso invasion does not scare me; while death is probable, my chance to aid my brothers is paramount.
If this is found, then my life has been stolen from under me.
Be strengthened, my village, do not lose hope even in these dark times.
Evil may prosper, but never forever; good will always triumph in the end.

Qgqqqqq's body was found dumped in an alley, fragments of bullets and holes of others riddling his skin.

Qgqqqqq was killed. He was a Village Night Tracker.

Quote:Night Tracker- You have always been concerned for the safety of your town, and have developed a talent for keeping an eye on suspicious characters. Once per night, you may target another person to track. You will learn which other player(s) your target visits that night, if any visits occur.

Bye bye Qg, sorry for suspecting you.

Poor brother qgqqqqqq. He didnt put his faith in god He thought he could take the mafia on his own terms, galavanting around in the night like some toothless vigilante.

Gaspar - can you lay out your thoughts on the post-lynch reactions. I know I was a bit over the top - perhaps you can excuse me.

Ok now that it's day time. pindicator just doesn't ring true for me.

Thanks for playing Qg. Sorry I outed you by misusing "tracker." frown

No result on Azza.

Cast a single vote (on me) all day, 3 hours after day start. Spends all day coming up with a test that can supposedly prove Mattimeo's innocence. Doesn't seem to care much, after it is pointed out repeatedly, that it doesn't matter if Mattimeo's ability name is confirmed or not. Sounds a little too risky to me to be a scum play, but also smells a lot like it.

Well, I cast a vote for you, then I made my claim. I figured that was enough to get Mattimeo to say what he did without moving my vote to him. His response was consistent with what I had seen, though easily fabricated. In retrospect I could have handled that better by just saying I had an investigative role initially instead of the almost full claim I did.

At the end of the day I was torn- I felt Qg's claim was better than Mattimeo's, but the consequences of a Mattimeo mislynch would be significantly worse for the village. I did believe that Mattimeo was lying about his name, so confirming that would have alleviated a lot of my suspicion on him.

waterbat Wrote:Injera, why claim with only 5/19 votes? With that much time left, you weren't in imminent danger.

I wanted to see what Mattimeo did, and he had pressure on him to say but then it sort of dissipated on to votes on me. So it made sense I thought to claim to switch that around. And, to be honest, partly I was being lazy and didn't feel in the mood to mount a vigorous defense, so claiming seemed a better option.

Injera Wrote:Pindicator. Crucially, on Day 2 not a single non-Matt voter voted for him while no-non-Matt voters voted for Ichabod. Catwalk was mixed in the middle. He kept a spreadsheet in his first WW game as well when he was a wolf. I do empathize with that given his timing related to the game.

Whoops, this came out wrong. Day 3 Catwalk and Mero votes were more or less randomly distributed between Day 4 Matt voters. Day 2, however, all pindicator votes were from Mattimeo voters, while all Ichabod voters were from non-Matt voters, and Sareln voters were all over the place.

I've done pretty poorly this game trying to read between the lines as opposed to just looking at what's in front of me, so pindicator.

Well, with Qgqqqq flipping innocent, we have one confirmed thing: Injera has a power role and he used it on Catwalk on day 3.

Do we get another post restricted player? Those two post restriction still seem fishy to me, but for now, I don't want to sidetrack things. There are better lynches than Novice and Meiz and maybe we can find a Mafia Post Restrictor somewhere.

Post 239, as I explained before, speaks in favor of Pindicator. Why would the wolves push for Mattimeo if they valued his role more than thestick's? I can understand thestick voting for Mattimeo to give/gain cover, but Pindicator's vote is hard to fit into a planned Mafia action on day 1.

a) yeah, you bonked a bit on that one. But tbh, wolves could have done more harm. Overall I think your intentions were good. And that's good, right?

b) why azza? Where's azza?

c) I can see the merits of Gaspar/Rowain ( can't remember which) who pointed out my question unfair. I guess I don't mind a later claim under duress as much as I mind an early claim under light pressure. Again, I saw it at the time as a structured move off of Mattimeo. Novice pointed out that that ship had already sailed. Matt was down to 2 votes I think when u claimed.

Thanks for answering.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that:

pindicator Wrote:I'll vote Mattimeo. I would like him to explain his reasoning with his change of heart. First he thinks Tasunke's claim doesn't mean anything

[omitted quotes]

And then he says it makes him the best chance to be scum

His actual vote is pretty soft- just waiting for a Mattimeo answer, and easy to jump back off of. Crucially, however, the people who said they were willing to switch to Mattimeo (uber and Serdoa) were going to do that instead of voting thestick. So maybe he's a wolf trying to pull votes off of the top wolf, but then the whole thing blows up in his face. I don't know how likely that is but I think it's plausible.

(Yes, those posts are hours and hours apart, but they are two successive posts by Mattimeo)

thanks ichabod. Quoted for reference. Will have to ponder this one. Maybe he didn't expect the wagon to stick OR envisioned this exact moment when we look back at this post and give him a pass.
