The version 2.6 work good on my win7. Thanks.
I have edit my previous post to add info.
Also: in wizard:unk02d-its mana is generated by volcanoes. 18e[19]-[23] seems permanent diplomathy penalty.
Node attributes:unk01[0]=0 if magic spirit,1 if corrupted,2 if guardian spirit.
Also,its coordinates is not always connected to the node harrison.
Its be good to make fast search objects by coordinates x y plane.

If monsters occupy your city,and kill hero with artifact,it can form ruins. To form ruin,it take slot from 'popped' nodes and overwrite its coordinates to the new ruin.
After this very rare ocassion the node garrison will not match the same node description.

A couple of issues:

As you said, the savegame can't show the exact version since it is not written in it.
However the magic power 2.5x is only present from 1.40m version of Insecticide, so if the magic power is 2.5x you could say the version of the software is 1.40m+ and change Unknown eMagic Powerful (4) to the correct value. smile

The second could depend from the first:
When I play at Extreme (3) difficulty the savegame appears as Hard (3).
So the number is correct, but the associated difficulty (name, but also % of increase for AI) isn't.
Maybe you could also implement, when you deducted from magic power=2.5 the savegame MoM version is 1.40m+, the difficulty change. yup

I know those are only cosmetic bugs (no impact in functionality) so put them at the end of the list of the stuff you are doing, but consider them please. mischief



P.S. The connection to the runtime game never missed a link, so far (before the event was very rare anyway). goodjob

Hmm, I don't like the idea that if you load a save file, the version would be inconsistent.
The lower level difficulties would be wrong, while the highest level difficulty would be correct.

Now if someone could save for instance the version into the save game....

Well in the lower level difficulties it shows nothing/gives the right number, like now, at high level difficulties gives the correct data. The glass is half full... wink

But they're not.
For instance, hard in 1.40 is normal in 1.31.
And impossible in 1.40 is also impossible in 1.31.

We should be able to find a safe place somewhere.
For instance, there is a map with movement data that is unused.
And bytes can also be added at the end. MoM won't "see" those.

That was my first thought, but I know there are also people with a nick starting with "As" and ending with "ex", and with "J" and ending with "m".
