Why not? Size 2, working dry wheat, would still be +2 for slow growth, but would pay for itself nicely and grab some land tiles for us without slowing down tech or expansion. I can always continue chopping in the capital for a settler for the fish area. I like the fish site too, it is much better from a food/hammers standpoint, but city costs are high and I think the commerce is going to be a boost. Plus, as stated previously in this thread, grabbing land is going to be important.
I do acknowledge that, other than the wheat and gold this site may not have a lot going for it... other than 4 forests and 5 grass river cottages (so far). Not terrible by any stretch, but I'll need a complimentary hammer city if we're going to hold onto it. On second thought, maybe the silver area would be better initially. Much less commerce potential, but much more production capacity and forests to chop. There looks to be another river in the area as well. The fish/cow spot seems to be close to another body of water, looking at the tile bleed to the SW. More exploration needed, but now that I've thoguht it out some, North may be better soonish. More production. Also, early game, that ivory tile isn't bad at all.

I'll try to look at the save tonight but probably won't be free until after 9PM. And that's assuming I don't get sucked into Halo....the last few nights I've been playing in the forge with L.U. We've mostly finished a fairly faithful recreation of Foundation. We just need to find enough people now to run a good game of fuckball (our branding of Oddball with rockets). You game for it?
But yeah I'll help with this game soon

You're forgetting city centre. +4f with dry plains wheat/desert gold.

Even more so when you're unable to settle many cities due to costs. How about settling on top of the silk?
1) You won't be able to improve the silk foor a long time
2) Plains silk is not a great tile at all
3) You will get 3 base commerce from settling on top of it
4) You get two great luxury tiles to work on the BFC (2/2/3 ivory and 0/3/6 silver) and lake fish
5) You will be able to build the workboat in the capital for rapid development
6) You get +1 happiness as soon as you research Calendar, no delay to build a plantation
Capital distance is tricky. On one hand we definitely want to capture a lot of tiles (are we going for an early religion? Say yes :D), on the other hand upkeep costs go up massively the further away we go. I think the silk location is a decent compromise, I'm guessing it'll cost 2 gpt less than the tundra hill location. If you discover additional resources further west, settling 1W on the PH is definitely also an option. You do risk losing the silver (if someone settles 1N of it), so whatever is west needs to be worth it. You also get only +1 happiness for a long time.

Size 1 working the wheat is +4 (6 food total, 2 eaten) so it goes down to +2 at size 2 working gold. That's atrocious, especially considering you're only getting 1 hammer out of it. If it was a desert hill you'd be getting 2 hammers, making it somewhat more appealing. As is, it's a junk tile IMO. Worth working later, not now.

Choke ended, at the cost of a quechua. Farm completed on the corn, replacement quechua completed, capital grew to size 2 at EoT.

So, have you ever had one of those days that can only be summed up my Lil Wayne? Well, I usually don't listen to him, but today, only one song will do, chorus refrain on loop, up loud, get out of my f****g office....
Student wants to set campus/woods on fire with a timer, an egg timer will do, oh, you have one? Oh, he has a plan for this? Oh, ok. Let me just call the police and manhunt for him. Sure, I'll wander all over campus looking for him and search his room. Don't mind the ass beads and dildo/vibrator I found in his sock drawer. Should have brought gloves. Sometimes you really find out more about someone than you want to know.
Another student has an EPO (emergency protection order) in place against him because of a girl he's off and on dated, she's nuts, he drinks too much, now he's going to jail and his mom is all over me because we booted him off campus. Yes, please, I'd love to speak with you. Oh, what's that, student? You now have to go to jail because you're on probation and this is a probation violation? Yes, I'd love to talk to your mom about that.
SMH/FML/etc... Can't wait to just play civ. Oh yeah, took my dog to the vet because it ate a feminine hygene product. $180 later and I still might have to have surgery if it won't crap it out. Come on already....
Thanks, I do actually feel better since you had to sit through that. Happy civving everyone, new turn coming soon.

BW completed, not exactly where I want it, but what are you going to do?
Last turn I killed Commodore's warrior at the cost of a quechua. My clean up killer is healing this turn, then will hang around the capital for the next visitor. I'm sending my other unit to scout to the NW, then hopefully around toward the bronze. Capital (still need to name this...) started work on a second worker. Plan is to grow on maybe a couple of Q's once the hill is camped and improve more tiles, then chop out a settler. Location TBD, but PH with a plains cow, fish, and bronze would do wonders for my ability to defend myself, especially since I've probably made an enemy for life out of Commodore, now that we're both lagging in demos. I'm guessing Sian and slow have been playing nicely in their corners for now. Lurkers??
