I'm surprised nobody has yet tried to claim The Internet.

Also, I generally don't post photos of myself. I'm one of those horrible Furry Trannie Freaks from the bad part of the Internet you may have heard of and so me and photography do not get along. smile

Ichabod, if you come to Rio while I am there for the World Cup I'll buy you a beer or fourtoast.

BEER!?! I'm not old enough to drink alcohol... scared

Nah, I'm not that young. And, by the way, I'd be the host, so I'd be buying the drinks. wink

And if we are willing to fill all the possible world wonders, I could find a picture of me by the Chichen Itza. But I was very young then.

It's very nice to see these pictures. smile

Darrell really does look old.

Me on the other hand...

Are we allowed to claim multiple wonders? mischief

I suppose I should probably claim the Great Wall, being in China and all:

I'm the one on the left in the hat. That is actually 2005 so still in college there.

Eiffel Tower in Pairs 2008 during Grad school:

I look like I'm green screened in there, but its just the lighting. lol

Rushmore 2010 on a road trip across America:

I probably have the Hoover Dam somewhere from that trip as well, but three is enough.

hmm, I wonder if I can find college picks of me and the Colosseum. hmm, probably not, that was over a decade ago.

It just occurs to me how lacking Civ4 is in Roman/Italian wonders. Which is odd, because there are a lot.

It's got the Sistine Chapel and Apostolic Palace. But hey, Rome got most of their wonders by conquering. All the Greek and Egyptian stuff belonged to Rome - Parthenon, Temple of Artemis, Colossus, Oracle of Delphi, Mausoleum of Mausollos, Pyramids, Great Lighthouse, Great Library. Plus the Church of the Nativity and Temple of Solomon. Also Stonehenge, Hanging Gardens, Hagia Sophia. Rome wasn't lacking for wonders. smile

yes, but they built their own as well. Rome itself is unlike any other city on earth - each layer of history built new wonders, literally on top of each other (going back to the Etruscans).

There is the Colosseum, which for some bizarre reason is not only not a wonder, but just a normal building that any civ can build (I really liked that the RFC mod fixes this). The Pantheon in Rome is just as impressive as the Parthenon, the circus maximumus, a half-dozen really cool forums built by various emperors (Trajan forums, etc.), the underground burial tombs of the early Christians, St. Peter's basilica, etc.

And thats just Rome, you also have a plethora in Florence (the statue of David, for instance), the leaning tower of Pisa, etc etc etc.

I think the Statue of David qualifies more as a Great Work than a wonder.

I don't get the distinction. aren't all man-made wonders great works?
