The Germans did their typical "log into the game with 1 hour left and then whip" nonsense, but I was around to screenshot it:

Here are the Demos after the turn rolled, after we founded our new city but before any other action by another team:

WPC's war weariness is at 4 now, which means another +2 were inflicted, since one gets subtracted for each turn.

Some notes from the late T70 demos:

Germans did a 2->1 whip. We can check if it's the case with Wismar.

WPC also lost a warrior during the turn, they're down from 98000 to 96000. Wonder why they left that one exposed, given that it was they who declared war.

Either a chariot, or an axe moved 2 tiles along roads out of the fog.

T71 - 1160BC

Cliff's Notes: Land points. The Spanish grew their second city from 3 to 4. The Spanish, Apolyton, and CFC all researched a tech. Total power up 13000, of which at least 6000 is for the Germans. WPC are not gearing up for war, simply finishing a totem pole.

Demos:

Lots of land points this turn.

TeamScore changeKnown landOther
RB1798 (3 pop)
WPC880
Spanish19019
Apolyton1596
Germans880
CivPlayers10100
CFC6 (tech)00
Univers808

I will need to work backwards and explain 19 points for the Spanish, 6 points for Apolyton, and 8 points to Univers. I also have 27 land tiles to assign at T51, worth circa 18 in score, ie there are circa 15 non-land scores to explain between the three mentioned teams.

Rival total population rose with 27000, which is a city growing from 3 to 4, and 2 or 3 in score. 33 minus 18 minus 3 equals 12, which would fit with 2 ancient era techs.

The Spanish received at least 8 in score from T51 land, and Univers 4 (this is from claiming 41 tiles each, which is the rival worst value on the start of T52). Some tentative counts, and I put 12 land tiles on Univers (8 score - if they received 13 they'd get 8 score); 15 on the Spanish (11 score), which leaves a tech for Apolyton (6 score, in 2t) and a tech (6 score, in 7t) and a pop (2 score, 10 to 11) for the Spanish. And last 6 score (a tech, in 3t) for CFC.

GNP also shrank markedly as the turn rolled, implying that the tech discounts may be large.

Rival global power increased with 13000, of which 1000 came from the rival best (WPC). Since WPC didn't get a pop, it is probably a totem pole. Given that they declared war last turn, this is hardly a sign of gearing up their military. I also assume the Germans whipped an axe last turn, so that explains another 6000 in power, leaving 6000.

Tentatively, I assing Animal Husbandry to CFC, Masonry to the Spanish, and Sailing to Apolyton. But this is very much WAGs.

WPC's WW now clocks at 10 after they whacked the Germans city. Nicely fits with the +6 from the explanation post.
So they razed a city and captured two workers for the cost of one warrior. Good for them.

Yeah, I'm sitting down with the screen shots right now to get a better idea what happened.

Things that happened during the late T70 and early T71

The Germans whipped their city of Wismar late on T70, and they whipped a unit. The city has circa 24H in the box currently.

As noted by others, WPC razed the German city of Wilhelmshaven (size 1, founded T65). This caused the Germans to lose 3 score, 5 land tiles, and 1000 in power from the loss of pop, which confirms that WPC attacked an empty city. Not good play here by the Germans - protecting workers up on the border with a single warrior, and not protecting a border city at all, against the power leader. The Germans have plenty of units - more than we do.

The Germans has passed us in power, and increased their production markedly, at the cost of their GNP (via graphs).

WPC has 10 war weariness vs the Germans, and has invested 40 EP. The Germans has 64 EP invested on WPC.

Confucianism has not spread to any more cities, from what I can see. Its influence is still 2%, despite the free missionary. Perhaps they went for a new city for the border pop?

Huh, how did we know about the captured workers anyway?
