Looking for RPG game suggestion

You'd like it to be so. It's a very mature game, but still many editions (either European or US ones) had the children cut-off (while leaving alone things like the most brutal effects. It's like Mortal Kombat would censore Jax's bare chest but leave his brutal fatalities.)

Fallout is the return of the NPC that don't always cooperate. Already had to reload when Ian shot the good guys...

First animal as a NPC - how did I wind up with a dog the keeps following me named dogmeat?

The thing with NPCs is while they are always good help, they can also screw up everything. For example, give Ian a burst firing weapon and go do HtH on your enemies. You'll be shattered because he won't, oh I don't know, do some flanking or whatever. A hilarious example of it was when in Fallout 2 I gave Sulik a 10mm SMG. I was killing rats in some cave, and when I ended this boring business he decided that a little pig rat is worth unloading a burstfire. Effect? I got a nice animation of me shattering to pieces (about -200 hp...).

Reference to Mad Max's dog Dogmeat. He joins you if you feed him with an iguana (did you find out about it's origins yet? or if you show up in a Leather Jacket. (I recon that there was a guy who won the whole game wearing a Leather Jacket. Why? Because his character looked so awesome. )

BTW: Yesterday I finally got my hands on an original game of Fallout. I played Fallout 2 so I eagerly decided to play it's precedessor.

Yesterday: I played straightforward from 8 p.m to 4 a.m...
Today: I watched Star Trek IV: Voyage Home, ate something, turned the computer on, turned on Fallout and... There it goes, from 3 p.m to 10 p.m.

But I have FINISHED it. And while the game isn't really engaging (end game, I had the best armor and the best energy weapon. I had 13 levels out of available 21. Most of the mutants died with a single shot from my Turbo Plasma Rifle.) - the ending is pretty awesome. And there's
fbzrguvat ernnnnnyyl qryvtugshy nobhg fubbgvat n snprshy bs cynfzn evtug va Birefrre'f snpr
whip (rot13 alert)

BTW: Do you know how to handle Energy Weapons? If not, then try to learn it. Yes, you can win the game and progress through the endgame areas without violence. But it's soooo fun to romp through all the baddies and watching them *poof!* after being shot by a plasma rifle. And you will possibly need something to fight off enemies on the wasteland. Big Guns suck, on the other hand.

I already knew to watch to this. I recalled in Wasteland being short on ammo, and my NPC going burst happy running out of ammo.

No clue on origins, but he has proven a good NPC. No shooting me in cross fire, and he has quite a few kills.

Hmmm... I am not sure if I should say congrats, or sorry it went that quick. I've spent move then 15 hours and have only started on Necro. The hub alone took ages with all the buildings, and figuring out all the subquests. OTOH when I can buy Combat Armor in cash...

Well I will be looking for more suggestions at some point.

Fallout 1 is completed. I hated dealing with the shields at the military base at the end...

Fallout 2 is started, and is harder then one. Freebies are harder to find, took forever to realize Sulik was a NPC, random desert action is much harder, and the game looks like a larger map. OTOH at least I can upgrade NPC armor. smile smile smile

I encounter ERROR, oiled him up, and get free energy cells when my best weapon is a 10mm pistol. rolleye rolleye

Gratz. For my character, though, dealing with shields was a breeze, because you can repair them easily (and my character was an intelligent everyman who had skill points to use to everything while being efficient in battle). And supermutants were pretty abysmal compared to the mighty force of Turbo Plasma Rifle.

As for Fallout 2... "Just keep the way you are going. And may God have mercy upon your soul". It's harder, but once you get to a certain city ruled by, let's face it, an uptight witch, you can try roaming around and killing bandits. Fallout is a bit broken in that sense because Barter or Gambling are not useful if you can wipe off any raider packs and then take their stuff (hope it's a 5mm ammo to feed the mighty Assault Rifle.)
