Your comment about still calculating was dead on - I think my proportion of time on this Imperium was something like 35% clicking through the diplomacy screens to gift techs, 50% looking up tech levels and putting the numbers in a spreadsheet, and 15% doing the playing/reporting of a normal game.

Yeah, I'm glad I took a different variant, and only gifted planetology tech (with some RIW tech).

Yikes -- that's what I get for posting in a rush just before a vacation. That's a rather embarassing typo for me to have posted for a week! Thanks for spotting it; now fixed.
