The last few days of HG:L were wonderful madness. elephant:

I had a glorious time towards the end. No more compulsive analyzing of drops and hoping for upgrades to equipment. No more saving up my palladium for augmenting the 'right' item. No more agonizing over where to spend that last skill point or attribute point. I just played. [Image: jive.gif] And played. [Image: jive.gif]

There was a lot of laughter and bad jokes over TeamSpeak. [Image: nod.gif]

There was a series of utterly foolhardy and incredibly goofy hardcore games. We made baby characters, stripped them down to their underwear and headed out to cleanse the world of evil. [Image: crazyeye.gif] The auto-equip function created all kinds of opportunities to tease about in-the-field modesty conversions.

There was a glorious game on the morning of the last day when cb-13 and I both took out the baby Evokers that we had ignored completely for the entire duration of the game and played them with mad abandon, despite having no clue how to best play Evokers.

There was a last vain but valiant attempt to see if the Dessicator could be persuaded to finally part with an egg for me. He died again and again but stubbornly refused to let me have one. It was still huge fun to have the support of the crew who aided that endeavour.

There was a last glorious series of Moloch runs with a varying crew of characters being brought in for one last joyous blast. We even found two Attribute retrainers. [Image: lol.gif]

There was the final goofy five-way duel in the Master's Court as the clock ticked down to the end. [Image: wink2.gif]

Thanks to all who were part of the all-too-short journey through the game overall. I enjoyed it all mightily.

I played too in one of the underwear classics. Great fun and silliness. Thank you for that invite.

And I miss all the friends I made there. Didn't seem like I had enough time to say all the things I wanted to say. When the time came was I ready? No, not really... but moving on to other games is part of life.

Shadow it was fun!

Ah I missed the farewell party - another excuse to get nekid.

Isn't there some talk HGL may get revived? I didn't catch the links you and cb were talking about.

Hanbitsoft is working on re-launching it to a korean market under a "basics free, pay for frills" setup. Namco is sitting on the US-EU rights so far.

Recently stumbled on an article reiterating the status quo at Gamasutra. Apparently Hanbitsoft is actively interested in marketing to a western audience as much as their asian one, but Namco still holds the publishing rights here and isn't going to allow them.
