Not sure if you're asking for the HOMM or the core M&M series - I don't know HOMM, but played most of the M&M games. For me, "Day of the Destroyer" (it was the game with Acromage, correct?) was less enjoyable than its predecessors. I loved M&M V and VI the most and found M&M VII ("For Blood and Honor") okay, but then I'm *really* oldschool when it comes to RPGs - I still prefer top-down/isometric view over 3D, and love turn-based combat instead of real-time, so...
