Random leader is what I told Sullla. So I am fine. I never played as HRE before, so it should be interesting.

Alright, I have a Worldbuilder save file ready to go for your game. The map is all set, and hopefully it will prove interesting. I hope it proves to be properly balanced; I did some things that I think will work at the macro level, and yet I could be wrong if things play out differently than I expect. Well, no way to find out except by having my guinea pigs experiment, eh?

Two things to point out:

- The game is currently set to Noble difficulty, for the Worldbuilder setup phase. When loading up the game from the Worldbuilder file, please select "Prince" difficulty. Thanks.

- I simply put the players into the game in the order that I had PMs in my box. Thus, I guess I set your turn order without thinking about it... hopefully that doesn't cause problems! Therefore, the order right now is:

1) Ruff (Gandhi)
2) sooooo (Pericles)
3) Dreylin (Mehmed)
4) athlete4life10 (Saladin)
5) mostly_harmless (Charlemagne)

Please double-check this by looking at the setup screen, I don't actually have the game in front of me right now. It will list the players in order from top to bottom when loading the Worldbuilder file.

Rather than email out the Worldbuilder file, I'm just going to upload it to my own server. EDIT: Worldbuilder file removed, not needed any longer.

That should be all. If anyone wants to set up a blog of their game, I would definitely enjoy reading it. Good luck and have fun!

From my PBEM experience ...

It is better to have a PBEM game heading West. You can start with anyone, just line the players up so that the game heads West. Do we have everyone's GMT location?

Edit: Based on the above location estimates, probably better to swap me and sooooo (and he gets to admin his own game!).

When starting a game, the person starting is the ADMIN and gets to specify the PBEM game name (RB_PBEM_1 ? - don't put any funky characters in like "\" or "$" or "..." because the name is used to create a directory under the saves/pbem directory and Civ4 doesn't check if the directory is valid).

The admin should also create an admin password. This password can be used to open any save and is required when upgrading / patching. I suggest that the admin pass this admin password to Sullla so that if anything happens to the admin (God forbid), then the game doesn't die. When you get your turn, the first thing you see is "its your turn" and then a dialog box asking for a password - this is your player password that will be required each time you get the game - make sure you remember it.

Now, Sullla has me listed as the admin - happy to do that, or not. Also, I am not sure about the order he has (is it optimum?). But I am pretty sure that I can change the order via text editing the WB save.

I agree with ruff to reshuffle the play order according to time zones.
Sooooo first, me last is fine. Gives me some more hours to recover from wisdom teeth removal.
I intend to keep some sort of blog about my game. I am thinkning about a thread in the RB CIV forum, that my opponents will not look at by gentlemen's agreement.

this is what I did ...

• unzipped sulllla's start WB file
  
• edited in notepad and ...
  
• swapped player 0 and 1's starting tech
  
• moved Player 0 to player 1's slot
  
• moved Player 1 to player 0's slot
  
• changed all 'TeamReveal=0' to 'TeamReveal=ruff'
  
• changed all 'TeamReveal=1' to 'TeamReveal=0'
  
• changed all 'TeamReveal=ruff' to 'TeamReveal=1'
  
• Edit: change the owner of the units at the starting location to the appropriate team
  

I think that should work.

Edit: I took down the wb file to remove temptation :D. I've also killed it from my system. You'll need to pm sullla if you want your own copy.
