Imperium 19 - Belated and short

First of all, I did not play Imperium 19 up to the end. I managed to conquer the Humans who being the 2nd biggest power in the galaxy put me into a dominant position, together with conquered Orion in 2600:

Screenie shortly before I conquered the last human colony:

To my shame, I waited exactly for one AI to take a dominant position and then jump her. The Humans never stood a chance. alright

The start of the game was quite easy thanks to an ultrarich planet nearby. Phantos built colony ships, my main planet LR Lasers and I quickly snatched most of the galaxy. By 2425 I had settled the southern half of the galaxy peacefully with only one planet successfully contested against me by the Sakkras.

At that time it also became clear that I only had one real rival, the Humans:

Whom I gobbled up as soon as I got a Huge design on my hand and got dowed by them, the first war took them down quite a bit:

The rest was mopup and I eliminated the Humans after I conquered Orion. With no real enemy, I decided not to playout the last 200 years whilst I could do nothing more then beat off backwards AIs..

All in all, a great game, I throughly enjoyed and I am sorry if my conquest of my sole blood enemy the Humans enabled me to bypass the idea of this game. To have a high-tech-level challenge down the line. The Silicoids enable massive expansion, the Bears or the Cats would have been better for a longer game, I think.

My notes from the game:

I discover Phantos, ultrarich to the southeast and immeaditly settle it. This will be fun!

2319

Rayden to the northwest is colonized. LRLasers are produced, as well as fuel cells 4 are researched.

Over the next years my outer colonizing perimeter is repeatedly raided by Alkaris and Sakkras but the LRLas do their job for now.

2344

Some research detour nets me nuclear engines. LrLas 2.0 and Col 2.0 are commisioned.

2349

A Sakkra fleet of 61 ships manage to overcome my 3 LrLas perimeter ships. Guradas is colonized by the Sakkra and we make contact.

2356

After Endoria is nearly bombed down by the Sakkras I pump out 100 fighters to be on the safe side, so I can actually choose my blood enemy unlike what happened to me in my civ game.

2366

Expansion still ongoing I encounter the Humans.

2384

I manage to trade the Humans for Fuel Cells 6, finally enabling me to jump to the east of the galaxy.

2385

Which is settled by a 5 star Klackon Empire. Damn.:D

2386

The Klackons declare war on me.

2425

Very uneventful years. I fill out every planet I can colonize and the backwards Klackons are beat back on all worlds. I have yet to decide on a blood enemy.

2450

Relations drop continuosly thanks to my 25 votes to the rest of the galaxy´s 42. I seem unable to ensure good relations without my most important tool. Bombing people who you are at war with.

2463

The Alkaris dow me and to prevent their allies to join in, I persuade them to join my side.

A look on the status table shows that only the humans are of any real threat to me. My standing fleet eats 10% of my income though, but it is worth it as it prevents those pesky AIs from dowing me. (At least the non-ruthless ones)

2492

The Human empire declares war on me. Finally. The Silicoids decide that their blood enemy has to be choosen! The Humans will have to be eliminated!

2527

After rolling over several worlds with my huge autoblaster-ion stream projector design, I make peace. The Humans despite their technology being on par with mine, could not stand up to my numbers.

2562

Only one planet remains of the Humans to the northwest which I can not access so far. All other enemies are actually chanceless against my technology.

2594

Orion is taken and an Amobea actually manages to burn down a planet of mine.

2598

My mortal enemies, the Humans are destroyed, as Orion enables me to reach their outpost. The Amobea is smashed also. Nothing stands between me and galactic conquest.

Screenies:

Overview of the game in 2425.
Status in 2463 showing the Humans as the only power who can really scrape me.
And the first short-lived peace treaty in 2527.

Thanks for the report; I definitely enjoyed the read. I'm sorry to hear you couldn't complete the game, but definitely understand the reason. Many of my decisions in the mid-game were made precisely so I wouldn't have to pay any attention to late game fleets, and they might not have sufficed had my opponents not been so thoroughly crippled (in no small part by their own lame early decisions). Well played through 2600 in any case!
