I even won a game on time, which feels totally pointless in a correspondence gaem. Let's just change the time to the minimum of 1 day per move if we ever do that again.
TBH I think some of these games could have been resigned earlier by the losing side due to being a rook+ down with no compensation.
At our level sometimes you can pull that back depending on the rest of the board. Although I admit there are a few games where I am not sure why we are playing on

@Pindicator:
@uberfish: No, I am just a patzer who has watched a few more chess videos than the rest of the players here.
IMHO to be a serious tournament player you should have a rating around 2000 and to reach that level you need a coach and a lot of effort.

Playing a random game atm against a low ranked oponent, and all his moves have been really passive. He is going nowhere near the centre and making no attacks.
Wierdly enough I am finding it really difficult to play against. I am so used to developing while trying to address theats that given an open board I have no idea what to do!
(Went for 1.e4, 2.d4, 3.c4, 4.f4 then started to struggle for ideas)

Depending on the defense, c4 and especially f4 may have been the wrong idea. After e4 and d4 you have two bishops with nice open lines and your opponent will have a hard time getting either of his bishops going. That is part of the advantage of getting those center pawns out early. But two moves later your bishops are blocked in somewhat by your pawns and you still haven't moved a piece. If you don't have an obvious plan of attack, try to get your knights and bishops active with room to move influencing the center of the board.

jkaen: if you're pushing central pawns against a weak and passive opponent the ultimate goal is to back up the front line with pieces and eventually take the d6/e6 square which makes it very difficult for them to maneuver
