I agree ... man, some of those cities are going to stretch our food resources thin.

I do agree with that somewhat, but in the long run I don't think it will be too big of an issue. As we reach certain techs, we'll have more farms on those grasslands (by spreaded irrigation) and farms will eventually get us more food as well. And our UB gets us an additional food as well (that other civs don't get).
I know in many of my games, I think I've often times spread my cities out too much (trying to get every city to have it's own fat-cross). We have that right now, and I did that in purpose so that we could have the possibility of backfilling multiple cities between them when we started having the various tiles improved.
Some of these backfill cities may remain somewhat small in the long-run, but overall I think having the additional cities will be a big help for building things, getting us commerce, and stuff like that. At least that's my hope. Having this many cities, this close together will be something somewhat new for me...but it's also something I would like to try out and I figure this game and the current layout of our cities is a good one to try it with.
That's why I want to get out 2-3 settlers as quickly as possible. We're already pretty far behind on city count compared to Trolls, TEAM, & Gillette. So I think it's time we catch up before the wars start going full swing and we have to choose sides (or try to conquer the Pirates).

On a side note, please plan on playing most of the turns from this coming Wednesday night through to Monday. Wednesday I fly out to Michigan to help with getting my fiance moved to the east coast. I'll likely be completely unavailable Saturday, Sunday, & Monday. We're driving the truck to NJ on Sunday for the first stop of unloading some stuff, then to my place on Monday for unloading the rest of her stuff.

Yesterday when I played the turn from work I took a couple screenshots, but forgot to post them. So these are from last turn:

As you can see, Trolls bulbed Philosophy, triggered their Golden Age, and switched all their civics. Looks like they're planning on running a specialist economy for awhile, probably to try to crank out more Great People.
They also adopted Hinduism, so now 3 out of 4 civs are using our religion. A very good thing for our Shrine. smile

Also, it's not in the screenshot since we couldn't see it until I ended the turn and got more EP's into them, but Pirates will be getting Metal Casting this turn.

So the Trolls are running (decidedly) non-war civics ... let's see if Gillette can't go rough 'em up and make them whip down some of those specialists. Speaking of which, any thoughts on how we want to reply to them?

Ok, it's time for you to take over for the next few turns. I just played the last one that I can do for a couple days, but I will be available for Gchat most of the time, so any questions you have while playing the turn just ask.
We also need to decide which Tech we're going for next, since we get Code of Laws after next turn.

Yeah, I had been watching the tracker yesterday but was in class till now today so wasn't able to see if I should play this turn (or actually play the turn). Thanks. I'll be standing by to play all the subsequent turns as they pass to us, till you let me know you're ready again. Have a good trip!

I'm going to have to look at the tech times in-game before I offer an opinion. Maybe Civil Service?

That's the one I was kind of leaning towards too, since Beuracracy would be a big help to us right now.

We could go Machinery after to open up crossbows and maces before our NAPs expire.
