Especially after getting so frustrated that Scoopin didn't do the same to Commodore.

Scoopin will have a big decision to make when they move the Impi galley North and see no city borders... Can they prove he's there based on travel times and the direction the trireme returned from? Maybe.

Like CFCJesterFool, Xenu seemed to be quite committed to their opening plan, in Xenu's case, specifically their dot-map. But where Jester's commitment almost immediately converted into a state a failure, Xenu's commitment converted into a bloodlust. It would have been interesting to see how Jester and Xenu would have handled one another: Imagine if one of Jester's cities had happened to occupy the same sort of strategic position as Brick's border plant.

That settler due to finish next turn was headed here, and Nakor is placing a city there next turn. Why have I no luck in this game? It may cost me a few units but damn it all that's my spot. < /irrational> I may have thought twice about it if that GG archer was promoted up the city garrison line, but drill? On a 3 strength unit? What's the point??? (And now that I've questioned it I'm sure it will win a few flawless victories, due to the first strikes).

If Xenu wants to tilt, it's not our place to get in the way of that.

However, I couldn't even get open borders with Space. I thought the chances of getting metal from Serdoa was ~0%. So I don't think taunting will work.

As Gaspar commented, specific players matter, and this little episode has raised a rather large sign over Jester's head with the words, "Rolls over and dies when taken by surprise." That motto could be painful to loose. It was one game. Seriously, we got beat due to poor decisions (farmer's gambit for too long, not protecting our metal, bunch of stuff really). Can't we just acknowledge that Scooter/Pindicator pulled off a brilliant gambit? You do know that grandmaster chess players will concede a game once they know they can't win right? Well, I saw checkmate...and it was based on the tactical situation...not sp bias. Feel free to assume otherwise, but I really do have a good read on tactical situations. If anything, the fact I win on Deity (there is that word again), does mean I am not a total noob at war. Note: I require no breaks, all criticism is welcome...it would be foolish to assume I won't learn from my mistakes.

Jester and Nakor, would you like to see a more lengthy discussion about how your game played out? I can give you some suggestions, but would completely understand if you're not in the mood right now. Losing a game always sucks, and criticism on top of that isn't much fun.
Hope that you had fun and learned a lot.
