I'll be able to play the turn through Thursday morning my time (probably leaving around 2am Friday morning your time), and I'll be out for 3 full days and maybe another half day. This is a trip where I will have my laptop and definitely can access the forum ... possibly civ if I find an internet connection off the campus where I'll be most of the time. If you can't cover the turns I'll find an internet cafe (McD's or Starbucks are everywhere ) and hopefully they don't block Steam.

I should be able to play the turns - we won't get two in on Thursday, but I should be able to cover Friday to Sunday.
I still like the hill for a metra border/horse claim - it can get up to +6fpt with lighthouse/metra border farms so won't be much, but horse/cow is what 8hpt? Add in financial coast when we're not whipping and it'll be a half decent city. I like the old azza city, though its weak strategically until we've got zombie. Apart from that, a sheep city, a wheat/silver city and one to work the floodplains/river. Not the best land, but eh well. My order for cities is: silk one (needs strong military/worker support and a popped border at Blimp, and iron working, so likely has to wait until after horse/cow city - which should wait for a galley (next build in volcano)

Also, I will cartainly NOT have time go go through a complete state-of-the-empire/general-plan-of-action. I am completely slammed with last minute preparations for our project (I'm on a team competing in a Steel Bridge competition in the ASCE student conference). You are pretty well up on everything that's going on, but here are a couple of notes.
– I'm saving a bunch of overflow at Postos to go into a worker once we have Banana plantation (we'll be able to 1-turn it then). – Pork Chop is in grow-mode on Clams & Pigs until we exceed the happy cap +1, then if Azza's force isn't in view we 3-pop whip in the library and grow back. – Volcano is growing until it reaches happy cap, and then re-hires 2 scientists ... OR maybe we spread the next missionary here, whip a temple, and work a priest hoping for a GProphet in 30 turns. – Most of our cities are getting all production from whips, so it might just be best to build wealth in most cities rather than trickling 1hpt or 3hpt into something we might not use anyway before it decays.
Nah, shrines are worth the most early.
I also am thinking we should cripple pork chops on scientists instead - it has less useful tiles. That pushes the GS until T135ish instead of T125ish - do you think its worth it? If not, DON'T WHIP the library, whip a galley or lighthouse instead. As usual, placed a bunch of signs.

Pork chops should whip when it grows, it doesn't have the tiles to grow any larger.

I saw you took the turn this evening. I'm turning it over to you until I get back Sunday (try to give my 24 hours notice if you won't get to a turn on a specific day.
Yeah sorry about that (I completely forgot about the time zone difference, and so thought you'd already left ).
Anyway this turn we settled our wines city (which we don't have a name for) and got routes to 2metra. As it turns out, this didn't matter nearly as much as we (simehow, presumably through AT) got routes via Commodore with AT and TT, which come a convenient 4 turns before we land TGLH (which I'm still expecting to fall every turn) Unfortunately upon planting the city I realised why its good to scope out borders first, as we have landed (quite by accident) with a city third ring with a metra city You know, the creative one? Apart from that its mostly good. The core hums along as usual, a barb city pops up in the south east - so I interrupted our scouting to take our 9xp axe down there.

Make sure you actually promote the axe to shock, and don't risk it in a low/medium odds attack ... We need it to survive to 10xp and then promoto for HE unlocking. Be on alert for that Azza chariot circling through 2metraland and approaching along the road we built. Plus now that wines city should always have at least axe/impi pair for garrison. Let's not tempt 2metra and leave an easy capture (like Azza did).
And it's completely ok that you took over early. I've been pulling 18+ hour days this week, so I'm ready to just fall into bed when I get home at this point. Zeus first in the east might be good if culture is so close there (we'll need a few monuments up while the chops come in).
And aesthetics - that's the big cost.

Geez metra whipped twice, I bet $5 theres a galley whip in there.
