if it's a merchant or a priest, research feudalism. If it's an engineer, bulb machinery and research currency. that's my current thoughts - maybe researching feudalism and trading for currency makes sense, I'm not sure. We'll see.

Danger signal. Jowy has a lot of forests there. He might not be whipping (which we can notice) to put out a big army fast.

However, given that our units are 3000 points and equal or nearly equal to his 5000-8000 units we can allows some gap before its to our detriment.

How about a picture showing who's still got open borders with Cornflakes.

And have we attempted to signal our friendly intentions to TT and Commodore?

Also looks like that forest between LALaw and Magnum could go to either city. Walls in LALaw or granary/lighthouse in Magnum. Granary/Lighthouse in Magnum would be best if we think that we can get the walls up in time through working the iron/whip.

PS: That's a good location for the scout. If you move 1SE can you see into Horizon? When our borders pop in LALaw we'll have control of that hill and we'll be able to see into Horizon right? The in-the-future Trieme 2S of the mountain would flesh out our sentry net.

I'm actually going to continue exploring with the scout. We can see into Horizon from the hill, yes.

I'll do some planning around the forest chops - I would think we can whip in walls easily.

Ok, well no point in us cutting open borders with Cornflakes on our own. At least not for the next 10-15 turns or until we get longbows. Others might not have noticed the 92 gpt yet so its early to propose a trade embargo.

Question: Can we propose a trade embargo? Is that part of the interface?

What? Continue exploring? Are you sure that we need to do that? That sentry net could save us many, many hammers on unnecessary military. What is it that you want to do with that scout that's more important than that?

If I replaced the word "exploring" with the words "scouting out jowy's lands", does that feel better? I want visibility into his cities for C&D, I really want to know his infrastrucutre, where he's building up military and if he's near 2metra and are we or 2metra his target. That scout is the only thing giving us that information. I'm going to bring the other scout around, but I've got it farting around near azza for no particular reason, so it has a ways to go. I added in lines to the above to give an ~route - I may go a turn further west, I'm not sure. eventually, yes - i think we'll end up hanging out on that hill, though Jowy might end up booting us

We will have visibiility into horizon from that hill, yes. Nothing Jowy can do about that.

The interface doesn't allow us to propose stopping trading, but we can ask people (we made a special rule about that - I think maybe it's time to start using it

Cornflakes has 9 cities.
Everyone who isnt' azza has 40 cities, thus he has 2 cpt per trade route. If we close borders, he has to go domestic for 5 routes and loses 5 commerce. I wonder if we can close borders, then offer to reopen them for currency? And if he refuses, ask everyone to close borders.

btw - I think I mentioned this - we have turned off research for now. once we get out next GP, we figure out what to do. Spoiler alert - if it's an engineer, we will upgrade some archers to xbows...
