2metra didn't accept and didn't counter - I may have offered as he was ending turn, I'm not sure.

I offered construction for 15 gpt. I then offered 15 gpt to commodore for currency. I know - not cornflakes. it's just incredibly hard to give a guy with that much cash an extra 200 gold - I think people would scream.

Pics later - no amazing developments - cornflakes is about to settle a city NW of Blimp - not really in our sphere of influence, though if he goes further south, we'll have to take notice.

That's exactly the point, we want to scream this to the world: "WE'RE A LITTLE BUSY HERE SO WE WON'T BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT CORNFLAKES SO COMMODORE, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT HIM YOU'LL HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF OR FORFEIT THE GAME".

This is the only way a dog pile is going to happen. AND,...if we are a well known vassal then the dog pilers will offer US something to switch sides,....AND,...if there is military action through our borders we stand the most to gain.

If we make it obvious that we're more happy to be friends with Commodore than Cornflakes, then odds are good that Cornflakes will attack us at an opportune moment, probably alongside of Jowy. Or he'll wait and outtech us and they'll split us along the middle. Commodore's certainly not going to help us when that time comes so I'm not sure why we prefer him winning over Cornflakes.

Cornflakes settler - I think it will go right there - I'm not sure it gets the lighthouse bonus, though, on fresh water lakes. Anyone know?

He accepted the deal!! for 150 hold, we get 640 beaker tech, one that immediately pays for itself and more so!!

He then offered Calendar for 15 gpt, which I did not take (and I forgot to take a screenshot) - Calendar is useful (we have silk), but it gets in our way and we'll be able to trade for it.

We now have a conundrum:



The priests are no longer that interesting - an engineer gets us xbows, a merchant gets us CS.

We can currently tech machinery or Feudalism, right now, in 10 turns if we run wealth everywhere. that, of course, doesn't work - Jowy will overrun us.

The question is:

Do we continue as is, getting a GP in 6 turns, with a pretty strong chance of it being a priest?
We can cut it back to 1 priest and get one in 7 turns, with a smaller chance of being a priest?
We can cut back to just an engineer and get one in 11 turns, though perhaps whipping in a market and getting a better chance at a merchant in somewhat less than 11 turns.

My gut says to cut back to 1 priest and get it in 7 - machinery kind of makes us safe and getting to CS with a merchant is awesome in general.

If we miss on the engineer, we can power research to feudalism or machinery - machinery and CS gives us maces, which makes us the bad asses on the block.

I also changed a build, setting The OC to wealth. Why? Well, I have a missionary (which I had built for SWAT, but the confucianism spread makes the problematic), which I can get down there - I got a chop overflow from the granary of 35 hammers, so with the bonus, that's 43 hammers or half way to a lib, so that's good

No terrifically interesting stuff mid-turn. Did kill a wandering barb warrior by The OC.

We got the border expansion at LA Law and... did not get that tile - we tied with Jowy and he got it. Well, we are getting a 25% discount on buildings



Granary is in next turn, then walls. Have to think on whether to go lighthouse or units after that - lighthouse helps with food, though we can make farms for that, a few archers help with defense. Probably units. Might sim it out to see what's best.

Whipped in a granary (finally!!) at NCIS. Will whip in a granary at Magnum PI next turn. I think catapult is next for magnun and NCIS, though I would like to get a lighthouse in both.

Just looked on civ stats and 2metraninja just had a mid-turn score increase of 12 points, so I think he bought construction!! From us, I hope
