Won't your 14-turn plan work much better with Marble?

Do we want to volunteer some worker turns to help them?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Very nice. I did a quick look at the Taj plan with marble added, and the build goes down to 7 or 8 turns with marble added into the equation. That would put the finishing date around roughly Turn 140 (we might want to cut out one of those 1 pop whips, depends on how worried we are about Taj falling. I would personally cut the one pop whip on the market on T130 and just let it finish naturally; novice can play around with this if desired.)

I don't want to fool around with workers clearing jungle or whatever for the Germans. That gems resource is way out in the middle of nowhere; here's the location in an old picture:

Simple offer: we trade them gems and spices for marble. Easy, done. Trade goes through as soon as they have marble to offer. No fooling with workers out in the middle of nowhere.

One thing we can do to sweeten the deal is to offer to clear the pig southeast of Worms. That's a safe tile, they have already roaded it, and we have several workers in the area.

i think gems and spices should be enough. they won't be in a rush to get their own gems cleared if we are giving it to them.

Awesome!
I don't think the whip plan will be as necessary if we get marble - that's the advantage they had over us, so we don't need to rush big time to get it out anymore.

Thats probably why they're willing to offer it - because they don't realise Taj is realistic and so think we just want the NW.

no, the reason they never offered it before is because we never asked about it before.

Well, we never asked, we didn't see the marble they could hook up, and they had trouble with WPC. No way they could have gotten the marble up to help us with the MoM - remember, MoM fell on T106, but I have only a note for Masonry for the Germans on T115, and the second city of Wilhelmshaven was only founded on T88, and hooking the marble would require plenty of worker actions.
