Any Visual Artists here?

I am looking for visual artists to help move us (RB) into the next phrase. Knowing how to code web stuff is helpful (in knowing how things work) but not necessary. We can leave the actual implementations to the code monkeys.

As this is not a large commercial site that site performance is utmost critical, I would like to see a delicious looking site - ie, CSS buttons need not apply.

You will be part of a team responsible to design how the entire RB future site(s) will look, and provide graphics where needed. Designs includes:
RB front door - I plan to adopt a CMS system so the front door would be active, with forum feed too.
Existing sub sites - to port over old contents with the new look and functionality
New sub sites - Hoping to see many more.
And more...

I am not sure how to go about the volunteer selection process, since too many cooks spoils the broth, it will depend on the response. We will see.

We don't want your copyrights, just the right to use any of your contributions for the purpose of Realms Beyond as we see fit

If no one else steps up, I can volunteer. Just not sure about how much free time I have to put on this.

I'm a 3D-artist by trade, but I have also worked with graphics for web and print. I have all the Photoshop, CSS and whatever else skills necessary to create a beautiful website.

Great thanks! This is not something we need in a hurry, not until we get someone committed to look at a CMS and get comfortable enough to custom skin it. TBH, I have no idea how much design freedom these CMS have (ie, might be a lot of trouble to not use automated menus and buttons ). In the mean time, we can think about it, and you are welcome to submit any design ideas and mock ups.

Joomla seems to be the most popular, so it's probably what I would check out first.

Just a couple of random sporadic thoughts on the redesign.

The front door would stay Black/Charcoal, but using different embellishments. The color scheme works best as a shell for our many sub sites/section, which might or might not use their own color schemes.
Just go to the RB front door, or choose the BlackBeauty forum theme to see black/charcoal

I think our disclaimer where it says "Many games, but one philosophy" on the front page is important in that it sets the tone of RB right out front and center. Tho, I am contemplating on trimming "Whatever game you are playing come with us to the Realms Beyond" to save vertical space... What are your opinions?

PS: I will get a hold of you, nabaxo, when I think I can slot out a big junk of time to delve into this
