Quote:No I think it still goes to that city regardless of owner (like if you chop in another's borders.
Nope, if it's in neutral territory it goes to the chopper.
Quote:One thing I did come up with, is that our hpt is piddly enough at the moment that we can afford to put a few turns into Taj somewhere else for the failgold.
Just make sure you don't give up too many hammers at Kayak ... our "piddly" production will eventually build taj.
Quote:You never responded to me at azza -I've done nothing for now but I think I might sim out our odds tomorrow, as it costs a lot to leave azza alive that long.
0% on guilds.
I was under the impression the our Taj GA would get us guilds in 4-5 turns ... nope. The problem is our army is divided in 2. He'll be able to target one direction and wipe out that army. Sim it out, but it'll be a costly attack for sure. My plan was spend 2 turns of full EP spending against Azza with Nationhood's +25% bonus in order to get the Support City Revolt spy attack. Then move in with 5 knights in one of the stacks. The knights attack from 2 moves away after revolting the city, killing the top 5 defenders (we get odds without catapults with the city defenses revolted away). In this way Azza can only kill 11-5 = 6 of our units when he collaterals us and attacks out.

I actually offered Google to 2metra already (last time I logged in yesterday). I expect him to refuse, but since we have our own horses now at Apocalypse .... cancel the horse/ivory trade with him. Then offer Google + ivory as a last resort to try and get Taj chopped. If he accepts, move workers into position to chop the 2 3rd ring in the east. If he refuses, well we didn't need horses anyway and it's better he doesn't have that extra happy since we're planning to destroy him at some point.

Can we demand it back for 100 gold?

Certainly ... It'll be absolutely swamped in our culture from volcano (4th ring already at +21cpt).

Check city builds at Porcupine and Paradigm. I just selected something quick since I was just checking up on Taj plans
Accepted Education, 50 gold, and map from TT for Nationalism.
I really am turning control over to you. I just wanted to finish out securing Taj ... We WILL win Taj in spite of not getting the reload. And remember this?

Well, we're just waiting 2 extra turns to get Taj ... plus gifting away Google, but we'll get that back either peacefully or through the hammer
I was really very surprised the 2metra accepted the city immediately, especially without checking the situation and re-offering. But we can now chop Taj. We need 44 base hammers. We get 16 from one chop (already pre-chopped once, so only need 2 workers next turn) and 24 from the other chop = 40. Work the plains hill this turn, which is 3 including city center. By my count we shouldn't need to work the plains hill next turn, but check and see. Due to rounding oddities we may need an extra hammer or two. Just check and make sure Taj will complete
Otherwise I didn't touch anything and left the 2 workers that aren't involved in the Taj chopping unmoved.
Thanks for covering the turns Q!

Actually, we could probably ask for it back free next turn after completing the chops. If he won't give it back free then throw in something. I'll leave the decision and details to you. Also, we still don't really need his horses for ivory. We'll have them from Apocalypse as soon as the borders pop. You're planning to build culture, right? Because the border pop also gets us Gold for +2 more happy

Why did you give TT nationalism???
Its not like we need education.
Its not quite 44 base hammers.
Rather, (16+24)*2.75=110, leaving 10 hammers for us to get from over sources.
That gives us a 5t Taj working the sheep, or a 1t working a grass mine.
I'll finish if the turn those chops come in.
Im not surprised he accepted.
I'll move up a bunch of HA and ask for it back for 50g + ivory.

Ok so 8preats (1 with C1/shock, 1 with C1), 2 macemen, 1 axemen (C1) an archer and 22 catapults.
We have SOuth: 7 catapults, (4 with a promotion still) 7 axermen, (1 with C2 shock, 3 with combat 1) 2 HA (1 with C1), 4 maces (1 with C1 shock, 1 with C1).
In the North I have 10 macemen (3 with shock 2 with C1), 3 catapults and a medic impi
Having simmed it, not once do we fail do take the city.
However, that comes at a rather high cost.
I think I'll wait and reinforce with horse archers, and invade in 2-3 turns.

What if you move in single units to pillage the roads first. Even if the single units exchange or take boy a few cats it won't be a loss. The roads are what gives him an advantage because he can hit one stack first, and then get back to hit the other stack.
