I vote limited , upgrade 1-2 to macemen, whip some catapults, and take just one city - getting some CR3 maces in the process. Somehow. Can't lose against noble AI, can we?

Well, jokes aside, to really follow our variant, we should abhor improvements in our enemies' lands as well. So if we can't take cities, lets start our pillage economy for real...

ok played the turn.

not sure if it was smart, but I traded machinery to caesar for music. also got his world map. that paid off.



lil extra cash and I've revealed pretty much all land.



also got open borders with caesar, he seemed friendly to us at this point.


we lost the great library.. well we did get a large stockpile of cash the next turn
I think we blew this one. probably should have built it in our capital, we would have completed it in time.


so yeah.. lots of EPs on the one person we don't need to worry about :weed:


compass only took 4 turns, so i detoured. since most of our economy is trade route driven, a harbor in our capital will help.


popped a low odds GE, this seemed the most useful - since we haven't used our 1 person golden age, and I don't think anyone will beat us to the taj.



izzy.. what? hammurabi must have bribed her, since we have the same religion. unfortunately I couldnt break the open borders between her and the native americans.



ok so here's where we sit, i've whipped a couple of maces and molach should be able to take sippar this turn. hammurabi doesnt seem to have much defense so we should be able to methodically advance on him. the problem? pacal AND caesar DOW this turn... (@#*(@$($* so basically we are at war with everyone except the native americans. ok, good luck molach

good news: pacal is the only tehcnological threat. he has guilds and maces, no one else has either. so try to get peace with him, hehe.

Heh after writing this I see that there are no pictures from playing. Where did they go? Okay, I'll get an end-status shot or two. Starting up again....ah here we go.

That knight is hurt, btw, because he has killed a catapult and a maceman. Only one I saw from Pacal. So far. We really need peace with him.

Just realized that isabella is at war, and has open borders with sitting bull. Ops. Well hopefully some forces can be rerouted and fill up that empty city. Sorry for that, got a bit carried away by the war in the west.

I wrote some while playing:
Turn 255:
Attacked the city. Lost 1 catapult which didn’t scratch longbowman. Attack with mace at 56% odds, won. Second mace won at 96% odds. City came withlighthouse, kept. I know it doesn’t quite fit with dotmap, but cost of settler + chance of enemy resettlement made it a clear choice. Got Robert E. Lee, Great! General.

Whipped catapult in Basra, spearman as next build. Upgraded a sword to maceman. Hammurabi will take peace now, but want to take another city first.

Turn 256:
Mace with 4 exp killed a scout for 5 xp. Wandered in towards next Babylon city with this mace and axe and 3 cats. One mace needs to heal in town a while. Kept archer there, can upgrade to crossbow/longbow in emergency.

On western front, upgraded an axe to maceman. 2 maces, axe spear and catapult will head towards Taoism holy city and besiege it. Looting the countryside is an option.

Turn 259:
Besieging two cities now. Might not be strong enough to take tao city…without heavy losses. But Borsippa has a longbow + swordman, and will die shortly. (Taoism city was indeed to strong, but lost nothing there and pillaged a bit. Pillage sure sucks in BtS....)
Gave compass to Carlemagne for peace, so traded compass to sitting bull for 60 gold and world map.

War.

Turn 265:
I apologize, but I got a bit carried away, got immersed in the battle, to put it that way. Hammurabi got lucky, and retook Sippar. Took it back without losses, but then there was a pacal knight making trouble near borsippar.

End result, we took peace from Hammurabi and hold those 2 new cities. Got 70 gold for peace. Still at war with Augustus and Pacal. And Isabella, all refuse to talk.

Okay, let the pros handle it for a while.
