This sort of thing is why I voted for random events in PB11 Too bad it didn't win.
Too bad you got 15% of a relatively cheap/useless tech Theocracy doesn't seem like a thing you really need/want.

I funded further expeditions, and won it: It's literally the cheapest tech I can research still. However, it's not useless entirely, you can bet I'm going to be in Theocracy in the endgame. Plus, with 30% off, it's cheaper to use Theology as a sneaky springboard/overflow sump.

Ah, somehow I missed that Theocracy was in your list of endgame civics. I suppose that makes sense - US+Kremlin should do you for production, and Organized Religion doesn't do anything for you headed for space.

I'm finally back from my quest to teach Vikings the ways of warmongering (being the famous warmonger myself :P ). Read through the thread, can only say - you're awesome! Best of luck winning this thing man!
(and now I want a new unit named after me )
Thanks Yuri! Will do.
The turns keep on chugging, the empire keeps growing. At the outermost outpost of the empire, the Artist Formerly Known As Voyager is out of revolt and giving up some sugar. The screamingly massive 14gpt maintenance is dismaying; need State Property sooner rather than later. Blessed Seas plan is still in effect. I'm colonizing the Pacific at a steady pace, although I might need to add some frigates soon if Slow keeps annoying me. I'm also about to settle this wee beaut, she doesn't look like much but with two mines and an engineer she'll make 12hpt for some good effects. That's not even close to the worst of the planned filler cities, though; check out these puppies. A whales/mine spot is bad enough, but how about the ultimate filler spot in between the capital and Hidden Valley? Still can build crap at a decent clip, though, particularly with SP workshops. Callum's Villa, on the other hand, will never ever make good hammers. However, it'll be able to do 4hpt base once the Buddhist temple is up and I hire a priest; not much, but Callum's exists for trady goodness, and its doing that well. The Second City of the kingdom is definitely shaping up to be Western Heights, you were quite right Thoth. At size twenty, this sucker will be a perfect monster; good dotmapping on the Zulu side of things. Pity for them they opted for the daft Fishing open... Overall, here's how it looks in Old Zululand right now. Emancipation and US will do wonders for the lagging cottages still about and the towns they'll become, respectively. Most of the cities are fairly stagnated or will be soon, Nationhood isn't the most appealing idea in the world here. Can't draft, but once we have factories these places will be very productive indeed. Turn: 204 Status:
