k - this may be dumb, but I kicked off a GA. Granted, when I did, I thought we got a 10 turn GA on normal, and it's 8, but still.

Building a bunch of courthouses, cause frankly, my costs are insane. may switch to caste for a while, since I don't really want to slave any during this and I have a bunch of workshops now.

Well, might as well bribe Jowy for peace. We don't have the offensive capability to hurt him and he'll pour more defenders their way. Those 4 unhappy are really costly during a golden age.

Try peace for 2 techs. Give him guilds so that he can go fight Commodore and 2metra. Personally, I'd say give him whatever he wants for peace excluding a city. He's going to defend his core so its not like we're going to gain anything out of this dogpile.

Jowy offered peace straight up, so I took it.

He has no horses right now, so guilds isn't useful to him - besides, I don't think he has iron hooked up.

We are just building infra now - some missionaries for the new cities - and trying to get to Constitution, for the trading and representation. it will be close, I fear.

one thing - cornflakes has a GM in MASH. Should I close borders with him? Technically, I've ended turn, so i can't - I presume it's going to ATeam where it will give CF some hefty cash...

Turn 167:

been a while since I posted much in the way of pics - it's been a not terrifically exciting set of turns.

Interturn this turn:

I had offered whale for gold - he countered with this, so I said ok.

The other option was 100 culture for free. I picked the GA, since that will give me 3 gold and 3 beakers with rep and if I build some more improvements, do better than that. I dunno if it was the smart thing to do, but maybe I can get enough culture to pick up that silver without burning a city, I dunno.

I am still thinking about ToA - another 3 commerce, 1 hammer, 1 gold and 3 beakers (from rep) would be a nice return on investment for A-Team.

Commodore has a couple more cities than us - I'll pick up the barb city (which finally grew) and plant another one along there, which will help.

CF, on the other hand, is getting huge:


It's probably killing his expenses, though his GM will help him tech for awhile.


This is what the war with Jowy really cost us - a chance to grab a city or two up there. Course, that's relatively near our main military source, so taking those cities is an option.

2metra took peace with jowy, too, so now the world is at peace.

3 turns to constitution. Finishing off 3 courts dropped expenses by 15 gpt, which is pretty huge.

My current plan, btw, is to trade constitution for education and gunpowder and then go chemistry->Steel. Chemistry is really important for a civ with a lot of workshops and the first person to cannons has a major advantage. I figure that if I can team up with 2metra and TT (the alliance of 3 T's - AT, TT and TwoMetraninja), we can take out CF and Commodore and then all I have to do is deal with TT and 2metra.

2 turns to constitution - could get it in one if I wanted to run wealth, but I don't.

Took the barb city at a loss of a mace, named it CSI. it's getting to the point of the game where settlers are relatively cheap...

short - 2metra and commodore declared on cornflakes. 2metra offered me a 175 for optics and declaring war on cornflakes, which I did not take. cornflakes is offering gold for me declaring on one of them, but he is already trading gold for whale.

currently, I'm staying out. I want to offer tech - constitution for banking - but I haven't been able to yet. I did offer optics and constitution to TT for education and gunpowder. And I adopted representation.
