Ministry of Silly Walks 2: Walk Sillier/Harder

Yeah, the capital settler is for my SW. My hammer city near your border is what I'm considering getting out another settler for you. There's just not that many great spots left for me: one with only calendar resources for food to my south (or a crap ton of jungle and really far away) and one backfill in the north I'm in no rush to settle. That hammer city near your border (which I'm forgetting the name of) is stagnated at its max size, so having it build workers and settlers makes more sense, and I'm doing decently for workers at this point. It also has forests to chop, and since we have the GE sitting around for any wonder we want seems to make most sense to put those into expansion.

Alright, sounds reasonable. I'm having difficulty dotmapping the east though, probably since I haven't had a giant ocean in the middle of my civ before. When are you free to chat next?

We have confirmation that LAM have Calendar as well, since they are trading spices to each other. I'm quite frankly shocked MoM hasn't fallen yet, I know that team games weaken it but it's still very powerful, and I'm slightly kicking myself for not going Calendar after Currency for it. If we do, in fact, manage to get Calendar before it's built, where do you want to GE it? That backline fur city of yours that needs culture perhaps, since it needs 2 border expansions to get 2 furs?

Since your supplying me with settlers, I'm having difficulty finding stuff to build. But that's ok, I'll just whip some infrastructure into place for now.

I wouldn't be free to chat until Wednesday unfortunately. Travelling all day tomorrow then have exams Monday and Tuesday. I have put up signs in game with my rough idea of a dot map of the area though. Thoughts on that?

Yeah, that backline city looks smart. No risk of captured/razed and I guess could use the culture.

No problem, for reference:

Yeah it seems good to me. Shame that we have to use 2 border cities but there isn't much we can do about that. Not really sure what the southern corn city will be doing, but we can figure it out later. The first city I settle will be spices city no question, but I'm not sure if I should settle the gold city or dye city first with the settler your about to give me next? Both are kinda exposed and hard to reinforce for now but have great resources, perhaps gold since there isn't any jungle to chop down but I do think that at slightly more risk of attack.

Could you use you scout as a sentry if mack decides to send something my way? I have limited military in the area atm and could use the warning, plus there isn't really much else for your scout to do right? (aside from heading S, but I can probably get a WC to do that later without problem)

I must have missed that BumperSticker got a Buddhist spread, that was lucky (and one less missionary from me needed). That said, it could still easily use the culture from MoM to get the 2nd furs for me. I've sent the GE your way and it should arrive in BumperSticker the turn after Calendar is finished.

When do you plan to revolt into Buddhism? Perhaps around the time we get Feudalism, for a double switch into OR/Vassalage? You don't really need the happy from state religion since your cities with Buddhism aren't really at the happy cap yet.

Yeah, I'd say go with the gold city next. Remember that Mackoti also has the same reinforcement problem that you do, which makes it harder for him to get any units over there to actually attack you. I was planning to use the scout in just that manner, so that sounds good to me.

Yeah, that Buddhism spread in BumperSticker was nice, but obviously would still be quite slow to get fourth ring to get furs for you. All this depends obviously on if MoM still hasn't fallen by the end of Calendar (how the hell hasn't it? Did our GE scare people off?).

Probably won't go to Buddhism until a couple more cities have it/I want to go into OR. Definitely not until after Calendar, seeing as MoM hasn't fallen yet. Was sort of originally hoping to do a CS/OR double revolt, but with out planned tech path will probably just have to eat each of those being a different revolt.

That's true. We know mack has a least a spear in the new land that managed to kill my scout, although I have a hard time believing he has anything else. Your scout sentrying will be very helpful.

If I had to guess, probably that + an inability to get marble without founding an otherwise worthless backline iceball. Not to mention MoM is weaker in teams, although I agree with you that it's shocking no-one else has built it yet.

Delaying Bureau is a bit sad, but Vassalage isn't terrible either. I suppose we should be getting merc soon too, and we shouldn't delay bureau for too long either.

You know what I just realized with the GE? Unless there is a specific reason for me to be the one to complete MoM (the benefit works for both of us, doesn't it?) we should have you use the GE for it next turn. As long as I end turn first next turn we'll complete calendar, so having you use the GE gets us MoM a turn earlier.

That's true, and yes it works for both team members. I suppose there's no reason not to, considering how late the wonder's been available for, although it does give us 2 inconveniences (need a way to get culture in BumperSticker for third ring furs, and MoM creates Artist pollution in either my Prophet city or my Scientist/Engineer city). I doubt either is big enough to delay MoM for though.

Smack completed a wonder this turn, but it turned out to be Shwed. With that gone, I think Great Library is out of reach, and after Construction I don't think there's anything else we need before heading to Guilds. Maybe Alphabet and/or Archery (so I can build Xbows to clean out the units in my S after Machinery).

I'm willing to take those inconveniences in return for getting a guaranteed MoM. Can't wait to see the next turn roll now.

Yep, we know own 1 MoM. dancing

I'm pretty happy with the 4 wonders we've managed to get so far. Now, if only we could fix up the demogs to be able to compare to LAM in food and Smack in GNP.
