[SPOILERS]The Tyrant realizes that once the world burns it gets really boring....

T22 - Scout moves were uneventful, not worth a photo (this update isn't really worth it either!) lol

Demographics and one piece of analysis for the turn:

Global population is 46,000, which breaks down to 6 size six cities (6*6000=36000 for rivals, plus 600 for us, 42000 total at size 2) and four at size one (4*1000=4000), so 42,000 + 4000 = 46000. Ta daaa! And NO ONE is impressed! nod

T23 - So I neglected to mention something rather important last turn as we teched Animal Husbandry:

Clearly it's expected that we 'phract someone to death, there's no missing the intent. Maybe that's why our land is otherwise kinda crappy so far? wink

Boldly, I'll leave it to you to check the micro plan to see if it's worth changing things up and connecting the horses next instead of roading to the new city. I think it gets us SH a bit faster and has us settle city 2 a bit later because there may not be enough time for the worker to catch up to completing the road on time if the worker has to spend six turns out of position pasturing the horses and connecting them to the trade network. Then again, for our safety it may be worth it. If Sisu has copper nearby it would be really really nice to be able to counter him with chariots. If we do hook up the horses, though, almost assuredly we don't have time to get the second cows online for when city 2 needs them though. We have a few turns before we need to know, so run the numbers when you get a chance.

Our scout is still alive but it's looking like we've explored the wrong direction.

I think we should consider beelining him toward our region soon, since he isn't going to help us nail circumnavigation in this area. And he may come across Suttree if we do that as well. And of course, it will help us with dotmapping our future cities. This is assuming he makes it back to the starting area safely, but I think we've hit diminishing returns down here. We're in tundra and the coast isn't likely to sweep back to the east. I guess I could fog gaze and determine that.

Molach has grabbed the score lead for the moment, partially as the only CRE team and getting earlier second ring land points.

Also...what on earth is Kuro doing? He's still size one, he's a tech behind us, and it looks like he has a LOT of coastal tiles in his capital's BFC. I doubt it's fair to criticize him for the coastal tiles but by now he has had time to complete two techs and has only finished one. Yeah guys, let's get those T25 reports up and have a look later on.

So open questions from this turn:
  • Do we send the scout back toward home now?
  • Do we improve the horses next or stick to the plan?

T25 - Magical Demographics Transformation!

And hey, don't look now, but I think Sisu finally built a warrior. Confirmation in a few turns when graphs catch up. And someone is still size 1.... Any chance we'll see a rival worst population of 2000 soon?

Worker completed the pasture this turn, so now we're using it.

Next two turns he roads the cow tile and then we need to figure out whether to improve the horse or stay on plan and build out the road toward city 2. And we need a name for city 2. I like "Happy Face."

Our scout needs a mission. I say send him home for local scouting. I did some fog flying and didn't see any connection to the east, though there is land/islands out to the east for our future intrepid explorers to seek out, colonize, and despoil.

Now the T25 report part of things, mostly a bunch of screenshots since I don't have any keen insight or thoughts at the moment. Those brief thoughts usually come around when I'm looking at the F9 screen and see something interesting, sorry, nothing insightful this turn (other than as mentioned above...to whoever it is...why do you still have a size one capital??)

Top 5, we just hit the top of the list this turn, good timing.

Science: BW next is the plan, as I recall.

F8: Does this even matter yet? No, not at all.

And Sisu's charts since it's all I have. I'll get Suttree's in about 10 turns or so.

Glad to know we didn't die while I was on vacation. I'm home now but still sorting out the mess from camping. If I have a chance tonight, I'll look into how much to change the Stonehenge plan. Obviously the horse tile needs to be improved. Gut instinct is that it is worth delaying city #2 to get online, due to the lack of roads. The tile yields 2/3/1, but more importantly gives us chariots that we can send out to scout/defend. This is our new deep scouting plan, until we can get to BW and send an axe across the jungle. So, bring the other scout back as you had discussed so we can scout locally and keep an eye on Sisu. Early BW bears watching, although we did not see any resources that have been neglected in our brief scouting pass of Sisu's capital. Maybe he just didn't need to tech anything else urgently and he's not prepping axes to send our way. Anyway, no need to be paranoid just now.

Is it possible to see if/when Sisu hooks up bronze via the diplo panel? That might be good to check on. As always, keep an eye out for tile yields too. I'll look in game later tonight if I can.

T26 - Settler (24/100) Stonehenge (33/120). Worker move NW.
T27 - Settler (36/100) Stonehenge (33/120). Worker move SW, pasture1.
T28 - Settler (48/100) Stonehenge (33/120). Worker pasture2.
T29 - Settler (60/100) Stonehenge (33/120). Worker pasture3. Mining in EoT.
T30 - Mining --> BW. Settler (74/100) Stonehenge (33/120). Worker pasture4 (done) Work Deer, Cow, Horse.
T31 - Settler (88/100) Stonehenge (33/120). worker road1.
T32 - Settler (102/100) Stonehenge (33/120). worker road2 (done).

NOTE: Settler done 1t faster than previously, but it's a wash on city placement because a complete road network is missing. Also, less overflow (6) for Henge.

T33 - Stonehenge (48/120). Worker move NE/SE, road1. Settler move SE/NE.
T34 - 0% science (11g), Worker road2 (done). LET WORKER ACTION COMPLETE BEFORE MOVING SETTLER FOR TRADE ROUTE. Settler move SE, found city #2. Start worker. #1: cow/deer/horse: Stonehenge (60/120), #2 Worker (4/60).
T35 - 100% science. #1: cow/deer/horse: Stonehenge (72/120), #2 Worker (8/60). Worker move NE/SE/E.
T36 - 100% science. #1: cow/deer/horse: Stonehenge (84/120), #2 Worker (12/60). Worker pasture1.

Improvement possible after this point (possibly before as well, but before this is pretty straightforward for Henge).

T37 - 100% science. #1: cow/horse/SWAP to GHF: Stonehenge (99/120), capital growth to 4 EoT (26/26). #2: take deer. Worker (18/60). Worker pasture2.
T38 - 100% science. #1: cow/horse/SWAP to GHF: Stonehenge (117/120), #2: take deer. Worker (24/60). Worker pasture3.
T39 - 100% science. #1: cow/horse/deer/GHF: Stonehenge (132/120), #2: cow. Worker (31/60). Worker pasture4 done.

Overall, Henge 1T faster over previous plan (T39), overflows 12 (-50%), second city founds the same turn as previously. There is no real need to take deer from capital as I've laid out here when the capital grows to size 4, as growth to 4 leaves us 3h short on Stonehenge on T38 and there is no way to increase hammers after growth to 4 to improve this. Not growing to 4 and giving the deer to City #2 when it is founded has Stonehenge completing EoT 38 and would help get the worker out faster in City #2, but I haven't run through this version. City #2 is set in the micro above to be 59/60 on worker T44. Not awesome, and we can improve this, but the bottom line is that you should definitely hook up the pasture first.

I'll update the sandbox with new scouting info later this week. For now, sandbox to T25. Don't bother reposting this on the second post until we've found a better microplan for handling the capital after T37 and City #2. But this is good enough to go now for the next few turns.

Nice job, I think that will do it. It felt right to improve the deer before building out the roads but it's good to have validation. Since I don't like to sandbox/micro plan and you do I guess this will pass as functional teamwork. This is a shocking development given our life history so far. lol

Other than watching for a change in tile yields there isn't anything we can do to see if Sisu has connected copper for now. Once we establish a trade network we'll be able to see it on the diplo screen. As our scout heads back home I think it will be good for him to thoroughly map out Sisu's area so we can track his tile improvements as needed. And yes, getting out a few early chariots will be a Good Idea™.

FTFY. smile

And, for the record, sandboxing is, to me at least, just playing civ. It's doing the write up that takes time and sucks. This also represents the vast difference in time that I'm able to waste at work vs. you. Except that I did this at home tonight...
