I think there have been at least one or two more.

I've logged in about 4 times total. Maybe 5.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

One other thing to assume for our planning:

Both Apolyton and CFC each has a chariot in our lands, close to the German border. I think we must assume that both teams will feed intelligence to the German team. Ie, forget anything about surprise tactical moves and so on - this will be a pure slugfest for us against the main German army.

I'd rather put our main stack further east. The Germans will see it coming earlier, but I wouldn't like a German counterattack against Cutting Edge.

I kept screwing up the team name, so I quit logging in, but can do so.

So they have more Catapults than we do? I was kind of curious (and I'm sure this is a dumb question), but do we have enough?

We have about the same numbers of catapults. The big edges we have are knights (cat-killers) and maces.

But yes, it's probably a good idea to set some more cities on catapult duty, besides Focal Point and Cutting Edge. Maybe Seven Tribes - it has a decent number of base hammers and hills. Or we whip catapults in Ditchdigger and Frozen Jungle, similar to how we did in Starfall.

Just to have all our bases covered, what do we plan to do if the Germans decide to throw all their units in our way while letting WPC waltz through their lands? I'm not saying it's likely given their previous war, but if WPC does end up with more than 50%, what will we do?

Nothing, I'd say. We suck it up and plan to mess up someone else.

That said, WPC's army is probably mainly one-movers, and they lack strong two-movers. The Germans will whip all over the place, so there will be German units all over the place as well. It will be slow going. Our agreement on the land split also means they will need to take or raze every German city that's "theirs" before they can go after "our" German cities, and they have some distance to cross in either case - Westheim is far from their borders.

In a way, it is good to have the main German army heading our way. An early decisive battle close to our current borders will allow us to be more flexible with diverting units (vets) to possible other fronts afterwards.

I am really praying that the Germans try to stuff all their units in Wasserburg and fight a decisive battle there. The longer they delay a battle, the worse things will get for us. The Germans are not far away from getting Feudalism/longbows, and they'll be able to whip them out in large numbers. Our best hope is to kill their main stack quickly, and then run around with knights forking undefended cities. I would honestly take a 50/50 split right now with WPC if that meant a fast war. I'm increasingly worried that this is going to be a long and bloody conflict. I mean, we're going to win, don't get me wrong, it's just a question of how costly it will be in the end.

On catapults: yes, we can use more of them, definitely. But it's always a question of competing priorities. We can't be drafting cities constantly and building/whipping knights and building catapults and also do economic/infrastructure stuff. There are teams in the fog (Apolyton/CivFr) going 100% pure economy. I'm not willing to destroy our tech situation to get more catapults out. We're simply going to have to be careful in using what we have. Amusingly enough, the drafted maces are considerably more disposable than the catapults.

This might be a stupid idea, but with the army hanging around us, might it be worth delaying declaring by a turn or two? I don't know if we are diplomatically locked in to fight ASAP.

If we were to hold back, maybe the German army would have to at least divide to defend against WPC and then we could pile in and face half an army/army out of position and defeat them faster?

That could be our only way to potentially make it less costly for us with an early big pitched battle.
