metagame - well, I think this will be a long game, going well into the industrial age, perhaps modern. Right now, France (TT/Bigger) are dominating the world stage with musketeers, but cornflakes defense is going to stiffen up heavily - I expect a deadlock there until I attack cornflakes. Then he'll collapse pretty quickly.

I also expect France to continue to be strong - this is the best time for a spiritual civ - many civics available means a lot of switching around. He's in a strong position right now and Exp continues to be useful in the industrial age due to more health to counteract factories. plus, his UB is still not available. It's not great, but the extra specialist does help.

I'm still worried about commodore, because he's a very good player, but ind/imperialistic augustus is running low on oomph. Cities are out, but the bonuses for wonders aren't great. That said, he's kicking ass on espionage, which will likely pay off down the road.

I think we are in a strong position right now, but I'm not completely happy with the deals I've made with cornflakes. I'd like to be attacking him now and making more deals with 2metra (who has started mil trad) I'd like the final three to be me, 2metra and jowy, cause I can kill those guys. More likely, of course, it will be me, TT/Bigger and commodore, and the key there will be to not be the short end of the 2-1.

Course, that implies that I'm not the next victim of a dogpile

really, TT has played a hell of a game. Part of it is that cornflakes attacked Azza, so azza couldn't attack TT with praets.

I think our path to winning still requires us going through Jowy - but first, it's carving out some of cornflakes lands and maybe some of commodores. - Jowy's tough cause of the WW, so we'll need to hit him with a good tech advantage.

so, TT looks to have taken all of Azza's lands and is threatening cornflakes core, though not really attacking it yet.

In 5 turns, my banking for iron deal runs out and I'm going to attack CF. I don't worry about the horses I gave him. It looks like 2metra took a city from him earlier.

Speaking of Jowy, I have a spy in his land (I should name him... Napolean Solo?)



This is a conglomeration of Jowy's garrisons. I caught sight of a couple more LB's heading to Eden prime earlier. I really have no wish to attack Jowy right now A) he's tough B) I have a lot of weariness.

I expect jowy to be my target after cannons and grenadiers.

btw - long term thinking - I have research visibility on 2metra - he's looking at getting mil trad. My thoughts are to trade for mil trad from him and try to research things he isn't - basically, become a partnership for long term success.

My next tech after chemistry can be:

Mil trad (2metra is researching)
Mil science (grens - counter to musketeers)
Steel (cannons!!)
Rep parts
Democracy

Democracy is out - it needs to be a mil tech. Part of me wants steel, for a drydock and for cannons, part of me wants mil science, for a mil academy, probably for V, maybe for NYPD Blue, I dunno. Rep parts is interesting because it leads to rifles, which are very good.

That may be more than he'll be willing to pay, but 10% of cost isn't right, either. If I thought he'd do the same deal for mil trad later, when he gets it, that would be one thing.

It has a 60% defense, I believe, so that's pretty tough - but I will have some 10 knights or so - I figure I'll use 2 with flanking and lose 1 of them, then overwhelm the archer.

the blue line demarcates the culture from Paradigm, so I should be able to get LB from SWAT in there for defense. That's in 5 turns, of course.

Well, commodore and 2metra made peace with cornflakes. Bigger asked me to stop trading resources, which I think isn't technically in our list of approved trade offers, but I ignored, anyway.

If bigger is all that still at war with cornflakes, I'll declare. If he's not still at war, I might not.

Got Chemistry! working lots of workshops now. next up - Mil Science.

Probably need to up my mil - I'm going to put V on mil, now that it has it's uni.



Speaking of which: I have 2 unis, and I need 7. I have 3 completing soon and 2 libs completing that can lead to unis.

Also, note that I'm building harbors in V and NYPDBlue - both are running into health issues.

Why has no one built Parthenon yet, btw? I may just have to build it out of ennui...
