Totally unrelated to thread,.....
You play(ed) football right? City of Toronto still seems to be hiring football players. A 21-year old got hired as the #2 media relations guy after completing 1 year of university.
Fair chance that our mayor is going to be relieved of office via handcuffs in the near future. Get it while you can!

Heh, I always pictured Canadian football to be something like this
Anyway, I'm starting to doubt the oracle. It delays settler #4, it makes us painfully triple whip the capital for max overflow and we burn 5 forests and all that to build it eot69. Now if I was sure that I could get it then, I would still be inclined to go for it. But honestly, building the oracle on turn 69 in a ten player compettitive game sounds ridiculous. Even if nobody had any plans to go for it, there's no stopping one of the IND guys or someone with nearby marble to just sneak up and 1 turn it. Maybe if we had a good second city to build it, but if we lose it halfway through chopping or something, that will be a major setback. What do you think?

Can't see the YouTube at work.
Oracle's a real gamble. Like you said worth it if you land it for the defensive culture in my mind. If we're not very sure that we'll get it,...
I wouldn't want to chase it on a coin-flip of a chance with Rome as a neighbour. If we knew that we were the first to Priesthood and/or if we knew that Rome wasn't next to us then sure. But we won't know about either of these before the micro begins? Boy that pre-emptive micro sure is a pain!
But this is a 10-player greens game,...not supposed to be that competitive. Probably not worth it overall,...

Finals are over, so hopefully reporting quality will go up:
Barbs being annoying
More disgustingly good land we have no access to We sure as hell don't have anything comparable...
Settler due in 5 turns, and then another about 6 turns after that. All in all, we're looking at 10 cities by turn 100, let's hope that compensates for the quality of the individual cities...

This is not my day...
If he suicides against the warrior I'll be ok
If he pillages I'm gonna rage
If he attacks the warrior and wins, I'm quitting this game
Drywhip warrior?

Ouch!
Normally I'd say take the chance given that the barb is down to around 34hp. But,...he probably got some pretty good XP from that attack so he could promote, heal and have a decent chance on our warrior.
Drywhip unfortunately. Losing 1 pop isn't too terrible.
We'd be in pretty deep doo-doo if 2 cariots showed up. How's our power looking compared to our neighbours?

I'm never playing with barbs on again
It's like events: it adds absolutely nothing fun to the game and increases the luck factor by like 50% in the early game. Some players get a free settler, other, like me, get fucked over. This whole fucking ordeal puts me back 30 crucial early game hammers, one pop point, 40 commerce, 6 worker turns, possibly hinduism, 4 turns of cottage development and it delays my settler. I essentially lost 5 turns of development because of a bad dice roll. fun.
