[SPOILERS] scooter, pindicator, and Huayna Capac try some fast Zulu cuisine

I'm not sure how timing our assault forces Commodore to raze the cities he captures...?

And yes, this is the record-breaking post. tongue

So it's with great satisfaction that I can report that the random number generator seed was preserved upon reload smile

Reloads can do funny things. They've gotten our hopes up and crushed them, like with the Retire to AI reload. Then this last week I think it let us step away from the game for a much-needed break. And this last reload? It changed my entirely outlook. Maybe not so much scooter. But after asking ourselves what we wanted to get out of this game, we decided that it was time for a plan I like to call the Full Monty (click at your own peril):

I admit, I was tempted to post a different image here instead.

We hemmed and hawed about the best way to defend. Probably some combination to retreating to the center of the island with our knights on land and one-movers on galleons so we could react quickly. But a slow death has never been our goal. And even if this may help Commodore take our island a few turns faster, it is time for some satisfaction.

Because if one thing has gone right for us in this damn game, it is pulling off the cross-island invasion:

Did we cover that frigate? The blockading one can reach it.

Our land units are pretty thin after this. A handful of units garrison the west coast cities; 8 maces and 8 catapults are in the vicinity of KFC. But we do have a lot of Frigates. Aside from the 10 frigates moving with our galleons, there are 15 more, most of them centered near the central lake.

I think we can either whip out frigates and try to make a last stand in an island city, using frigates to pummel Commodore's navy. Or we can switch to muskets and catapults and get ready for landings.

Then there's also the grand show:

The fork tile is probably not going to happen. I think it's unlikely Commodore has a unit on that ice island, but he definitely has a city on the island to its west. Plus, it will take 2 more turns to stage before we can even reach the fork tile. If we want to try to boat a city without being seen, it will take 2 turns to move for ANYWHERE we go.

So we could hit Cullum this next turn. But we want knights running around on his mainland, so unless it's weakly defended that probably won't happen.

We could just land units. It gives him another turn to react.

Then again, waiting may work to our advantage. If his rifles are in transit to our island when we land the knights, then he is going to have to whip hard to prevent us from doing any huge amount of damage.

No, i intentionally did not. We only had a 6.2 health frigate left to cover it with, and a new frigate is coming out of Dominos this turn. So if he wants to exchange frigates, i'd be happy with losing 1 frigate to kill 2 of his in the north.

More likely he retreats that frigate to stack up with the main group

Ah, okay. I saw that other one in range and thought it was healthy.

Well, Commodore did attack our frigate up north, Noble. I guess I was aware of this possibility, and I'm willing to accept the consequences:

I spent a good 3-4 minutes just staring at that combat log and periodically pinching myself.

Also, are you referring to the lack of Khmer boats in sight or what?
