Also, are you referring to the lack of Khmer boats in sight or what?
Exactly that. I think this is the first turn in... forever, yeah forever... that we haven't had enemy units in sight. Well, I guess we can still see the cities he took off us.
Anyway, I think that's a pretty solid indicator that he spotted our stack. We probably have to turn home.... again

Well, now I'm starting to think Commodore may not have seen us after all:
Where are his boats? If he dropped those off and is heading north to pick up some rifles, then maybe we continue through along the south? The X is where his ships were last turn, and those units in Canelles were the units that were on those galleons.
What do ya think, partner? We move the frigate back to safety? Try to spot his fleet by moving west? Or north? I'd probably delete it if we do that. But if we see nothing, I think we keep the galleon train a runnin'

Well the ships could be 1sw of the city. Anyway however you are moving the ship, do it fast before he logs in and sees it.

His navy is NW of Callums. But you know what? We're going anyway. Although I moved too far south to avoid the privateer - now we can't threaten Callums so he can pick up those units again

So here is the situation at end of turn:
I wanted to log in at the start of the next turn and spot the events, but Commodore logged in ahead of me. So I got to see this:
Glad i moved the frigate where I did, but I wonder just what is behind that galleon... Probably more galleons with rifles.

I think we need to abandon Dominos
9 rifles, 1 musket, 3 knights. Those rifles all get odds on their attacks, even against our CG2 muskets.
I sank one galleon, but it sadly picked an unpromoted one to take the fury of my frigate. That's because he only landed 13 units and yet there are 6 galleons. Meaning some galleons likely have units on them still. Note, I also have 6 more frigates that are 5 tiles away from those galleons. You can see them underneath the UI, in the lake tile. That irritates me.
This is the sad part about not having those galleons back home - I could hit that stack with 3 catapults this turn. Because those catapults are on the 1 galleon we have at the island. There are 10 catapults in total, SW of KFC. So we'll move everything up, and have 20 units & 10 catapults to hit the stack with. But there won't be any culture after the city falls, so his units will probably all move up. I think I move up the frigates to discourage anybody from getting on a boat.
In the west, our scouting frigate did his duty - he killed one Commodore frigate and brought a second frigate to 46hp before succumbing to the deep. We could land all our units next turn, SE of Songbird. But I feel like Commodore might be ready for that. Take a peek, scooter, if you can. These may well be the last few turns.

That post came in too late for me last night, and I didn't have time before work this morning. Stray thoughts:
1) I don't think it's exceedingly likely he has more units on board. It's pretty prudent to have a few empty Galleons to absorb some hits. Why wouldn't he drop them all? I can't think of a logical reason for not doing so.
2) I think he might raze the city rather than capture. Also, even if he captures and we capture, it's pretty crippling as Moai gets lost in the process. The city is more or less gone.
I'll have to wait until I'm off work to look ingame at our options. I'm not sure how ready Commodore could actually be for a landing though. He dropped off 10 Rifles here, and it's not like he's been whipping that hard. Does he really have more than 6-7 more Rifles total? I dunno, I'm skeptical, he hasn't had Rifling that long and there's no real signs of him going all-in on whipping them out en masse.

Heh, I hope he razes. He would be smarter to capture and reinforce though - we would be hard-pressed to retake it, especially with him getting free CG1 on all his gunpowder units.

I highly doubt he will raze. He numbered his rifles but that could be a bluff, will need to make a judgment call there.
