This is awesome news. Kuro burned two turns of anarchy to make worshiping us a fundamental part of his government. It's nice that we're finally getting the respect we deserve. They will surely spread it around now, with OR allowing them to build missionaries in every city. KuruBandit, too, have invested in it and they will probably spread it for the happiness.

Here's the intersection point between Bandit, Azza, and Molach:




That's a barb axe on the cow, at 3.6 health I believe, so it has been doing some damage.

So it looks like Mad Dog is the Azza city that got taken early. I love how tight and tense the area looks, with rampaging barbs to boot. It means that they're not likely to turn their attention to us.

Another point is that Belvedere is very vulnerable to being boated, if it ever comes to that, especially if we could somehow get a 3 move galley.

Harding has a single axe defender. We have a standoff at Avar! Oxy will see our axe, unfortunately. If only he had one more XP he could be woodsman 2. I give a good chance he'll close borders right now and bonk our other axe out of his land.

I'd really like the axe north of Avar to be our HE unit. Otherwise it may even be hard to find enough barbs to get one.

I wonder what the story is behind that barb warrior with Combat 2.

There's our first glimpse of the land of Tyrants Boldly Wonderwhoring. It's a question whether to make a grab at that sheep island.

Thinking about it, I think Oxy might play at the end of the turn, double move and take Avar right now. It seems cheesy as heck to me but I doubt such a move would be discouraged under the "don't be a dick" fuzzy heuristic?

Edit: Ah but if he does that I have the option of declaring on him! So maybe he won't...

It would be discouraged, but it's a bit of a grey area. Although given Oxy's iffy travel schedule, he might also just plain not notice. It's generally considered kosher to post notice about a turn split in these situations; yes, that means he can opt to not attack at all, but otherwise it's hard to complain.

Also, congrats on having 30% of the world's nations in the fold.

The situation now is that we both played the turn at the same time, he ended turn a couple of minutes before me, and he still has a move on his axe so he could still log in and attack before the turn rolls.

The perfect situation is that we'd have an unspoken gentleman's agreement to establish a turn split for a little while. I wonder if I should PM him and suggest this, or if that's even allowed? But I also don't want to alarm him and have him think war might be coming. Nor do I want to alert the IT thread that we're contending for something.

I think maybe my best course is to wait for the turn to roll, and then if Oxy logs in right away, let him play and log out before I do? If he doesn't, I play first, but the trouble with that is he still has the capacity to double move the next turn. I can almost guarantee that I have less of a life than him at the moment, anyway, so advantage to me there. lol lol

Yeah, if you can control the clock, just letting the chips fall thusly is how to do it. Nothing wrong with PM'ing on a turn split matter, though.

That sounds good to me, or it works too if someone just wants to relay that I'm happy to take a gentleman's turn split (on either side) while we have any units or actions that interact with each other. I'm much more interested in a fair game than trying to find an advantage in grey areas.

Math comes in next turn, and then we go for calendar. It would take 11-12 turns at break even science, so it will be awhile. Enough that it makes me wonder if there is value in temporarily making tile changes like farming bananas or sugar. I figure workers are more valuable clearing jungle right now, for a turn investment that gives a permanent result.

Oxy hooked up something to finally create a trade connection this turn.




We see there that Molach also got Currency this turn. With Iron as well he's doing quite well in tech despite starting without fantastic economic traits (AGGR / CRE). I believe we're the only ones there with two happiness hooked up, fairly soon to be much more. I really like our long term trading potential.

Between us we're now playing pairwise sequential turns, which is nice. I can't believe he's letting me consolidate two axes through his land. Maybe he doesn't realize just how long a trek it would be to go around Noodle Lake? I'd love to double attack and raze the city - both for the capture gold and to not let him have the site so easily.

I don't understand the teleport mechanic, and I wonder where the axe would go if he closed borders next turn. Can anyone tell me where? Would it go E, to the nearest available tile?

I'm interested in scouting west now, maybe to find another contact. Alexander has had a heck of a 3400 year journey with a couple of near death experiences.

We got another set of graphs, on Molach. Boldly is next.














Among these 5, Molach is probably the leader, though his GNP is fueled by being Creative. Kuro is last. He's focusing on horizontal expansion at the expense of short term GNP and other metrics. We'll see if it pays off for him.
