WW26: The Masquerade [Game Thread]

Quote:Yes to the last question, I believe it was just a precaution because of how unpredictable the day has been aside from the Muriel bandwagon. If I don't get lynched, the field is very open and could hit a wolf. So better add some coal to the Muriel lynch train to make sure it arrives at the station. I must add, the earlier Mary comes back, the less chance there is that she is a wolf, in my opinion.

Hope this was early enough. I parked my vote on you because I felt the case against you was the strongest and I was going out and didn't know when would I be able to return. I will adress your arguments against me on a later post. Have a lot o cathing up to the thread.

Yes she has talked about it a good deal, but she initially only touched on it a bit, and it keeps getting brought up by others so she addresses it to defend herself. I still think she is suspicious, but not for this.

I agree with the bolded part, but what is Muriel suspicious for then?

I still find her suspicious for a couple reason. I still don't completely buy her explanation for the whole roles business. I guess I should clarify that while I don't find her having to keep speaking of the meta as suspicious in and of itself, it just struck me as very odd that she seemed to think that roles was something other than power roles. She also seems to be overly defensive in some of her posts, such as the last paragraph here.

Mayhaps the 'wall of text' was not huge enough, as you seem to have missed the point no matter how well I tried to explain it. In case you, or anyone else, genuinely did miss it, and aren't just trying to pull tricks on me, I will quickly re-explain. Profile names are not connected to users or roles, they are random. Last names are connected to your role, and might play a part in this game, but without any extra information we've got no way of knowing what part they play. That's why I do not want people revealing their last names. If it is a gameplay mechanic, we need to know more about it first, else we risk the chance of screwing it up for us. At this time we could only guess what they mean, if anything, and that's not a road I want us to take. As for the players behind our masks: Confirming a player is cheating, and non-confirmed players are only of use to the wolves and not to the villagers, therefore we should not drop our masks.

I knew some people would start pushing the meta talk in a game like this. That's why I decided to save us a few days of useless discussion and get us on the right track from the beginning.

Now to my vote. Rob, you are very eager to attack someone only a few hours into the game. While I find it hard to believe that a wolf would rather go on an attack like that than stay low, I find it even harder to believe that a villager would be so convinced of someone's guiltiness right off the bat that they would go on such an attack. Especially when I know that the person you are attacking is a villager, and one of the few contributors so far. It's also odd how you describe that my post had an aura of innocence, yet you take this as a reason to lynch me? What kind of screwed up logic is that, to lynch those who you feel are villagers? Yes, a wolf could play you so that you believe it to be a villager, but for gods sake man there's a thing called Occam's razor maybe you should look it up.
As she herself points out, it's still early in day 1, you'd expect people to be making votes on shaky grounds, so why the violent reaction?

Now I feel like I let Muriel play me for a fool. I suppose I am one, I should have checked her facts like Jon did.
Muriel, and Friar Andrew gets a re-read.

I wouldn't say fool. Sometimes the best thing to do when you aren't 100% about someone is to see who they suspect and put pressure on your main suspect by voting for their suspect. Then see what happens. For the record I believe that Mary's turn could be odd switching completely from me to Muriel. And I do think Mary's posting style is suspect.

Muriel the Slow

I really wanted to wait for Mary to post more, but I don't have the time. As it is Muriel is still my number 1 suspect.

I do find it strange how no-one here seems to suspect Rob, except for Mary who took her words back. Is it really so normal that a villager would spend his entire day 1 attacking a single person? That was how it was for almost the entire first in-game day, 100% of his posts and the content in them was attacking a single person. The original attack itself felt weird because of how strongly he felt of my guiltiness without any kind of proper evidence, mostly relying on that I was a complicated schemer. But it was even weirder that he kept going on and on about it, and not spending any thought on any other target. Though the more I think about it, the more explanations for his actions I find. He could be a villager with serious tunnel vision, he could be doing an experiment to catch wolves, he could be saving his arguments for the next day so his real targets will keep providing proof, or he could be a wolf as I first suspected.

I'm not seeing the case against Muriel. And honestly I rather see the friar lynched then Muriel.

But I would like peoples opinion on Young Will. Especially about this part

His D1 consists of jokeposts, defending the Friar's retreat from Sir Perci and a bit of attack on me. And the above snippet with him watching KN-Jon and Rob without any reason given at all.
