Happy deal: I dont want to be seen as collaborating too closely.
5 missionaries: Hopefully Lins build the rest, and that's an extra 10+ gpt to the shrine (thinking long term here).
ROP: Exactly what I wanted.
Settling agreement: Exactly what I wanted.
Can't really ask for anything else tbh. Maybe a shorter treaty, 50 turns, with the options to sign 25 turn extensions would have been a bit better, but 75 turns is probably the amount I'll need to build in. I don't want any way with the Lins or sunrise until I can take and hold the entire continent, and I doubt I can do that alone in 75 turns...

Now I need to figure out what to tell everyone else. I have sorted out a deal with dsp for the GP though (straight swap for a GS). I'm thinking of offering the same deal to mhk though, maybe asking for a GS or Gspy (prefer the Gspy though).
ruff I owe settlers and workers to...which leaves Shady and Imhotep I can't get to.

Sullla, this map is awesome in its' shape, choke points, and lakes positioning. Naval warfare is going to be absolutely key...
But what the smeg were mh/Kodii smoking? Their second city was planted 10 tiles away...and ruff has it completely cut off!

oh, and the real kicker?
Before map trade: 6 gpt at max tax
After map trade: 33 gpt at max tax
I am now the 6th highest GNP, 5th highest MFG and highest crop yield.

I thought that it would make more sense when you had a view of the big picture. (Not that it's perfect - you're correct that some things could be better - but definitely my best map yet, IMO.)
Umm, all of us lurkers don't know quite what was going on with mh/Kodii's early game either...

Some capitals are a bit weird. Imhoteps' really needs improvement, but he probably misplayed it and slaved it, when it is optimally played by growing to size 6 using 1 irrigated grassland and cow, and then working the cow, 4 grass hills and the ivory. But it is a little on the weak side.
Lesson is though, don't slave without a granary. I also think he should suck it up, he is hardly in the worst place in the game, although he has badly misused his traits. I suppose it would be fair to say I don;t have any sympathy for him or his position (find yourself against agg preats with agg Impis, first thing you do is agree to work together to dismember atleast 1 nearby opponent).
Other capitals are more powerful. mh/kodii have a pig, and they also have a fair bit of land, even if they didn't settle insanely aggressively. sunrise had the irrigated corn, even if he didn't have alot of food up north he has river grasslands. Broker has the pig as well, but his land looks more marginal than mine.
TBH I kinda think that regoarrarr does have the best position, with no one contesting him for the northern lands, and getting the lush verdant grasslands from Shady. Chokepoints lead towards Imhotep and sunrise, so they aren't that big a deal. I have to hope that Shady can take GT off him and hold onto that, which along with his culture bomb on that dye tile should force regoarrarr to stick to the north, and if that happens the game will be quite well balanced...at least until ruff takes over mhk land and I properly grow for once.
My position is completely relative. I'm not sure how much land I can expand into in the west...I think I'm going to risk it and settle for the cow/incense city though. It should be settled t120 (currently t116).

Chat with regoarrarr. He is getting disheartened. Awesome
Quote:10:58 PMKrill: I'm annoyed
10:59 PMregoarrarr: oh?
only 13 cities?
Krill: You land is just so much better than mine
regoarrarr: heh
it makes up for the fact that you're so much better at civ than me
so we're even
11:00 PMKrill: so, where is your border with sunrise?
regoarrarr: west
11:01 PMKrill: which tile though?
regoarrarr: not sure
Krill: do you get teh iron and plains hill choke point?
regoarrarr: i hope so, since i have a city there
Krill: and what about that northern landbridge...
oh, I take it you didn;t know about that one?
11:02 PMregoarrarr: no i know
at least i think
i do
the one to the east of the desert hill choke that you either won in concessions from the lins or probably soon will?
Krill: Yeah, that's mine
11:03 PM You know, you probably have more land than me
regoarrarr: oh yeah?
Krill: Yup
regoarrarr: cool
again, makes up for our skill differences
Krill: What about the rest though?
regoarrarr: the rest?
of the players?
11:04 PMKrill: everyone else seems pretty crammed in
11:05 PMregoarrarr: m-h get another wonder?
Krill: nope
regoarrarr: score went up 36 points this turn
Krill: Paper
regoarrarr: nice
11:06 PMKrill: I take it that is what you are researching?
regoarrarr: perhaps
Krill: I can't really see any other options for you
11:07 PM Lit, Drama, Philo on the outside...
regoarrarr: i have drama
11:08 PMKrill: oh yeah
11:09 PMregoarrarr: so with the lins smacked around, how do you see the alliance dynamics shaping up?
Krill: What do you think of Shadyforce?
regoarrarr: seems like a nice guy
11:10 PM answers my emails quickly, which i like
Krill: aw, you don;t email me
regoarrarr: but we chat fairly regularly
and he is my neighbor after all
why do you ask?
want me to attack him?
or want me to ally up with him?
11:11 PM (btw i need to leave in about 5-10 mins)
Krill: I wouldn;t mind if you attacked him
np
regoarrarr: so that doesn't really answer my question though
Krill: if you want to go now...
regoarrarr: nah
kids are all gone - i'm here by myself so i got nothing to do
Krill: I only ask because I'm interested
regoarrarr: just need to be somwhere in 20 mins
11:12 PMKrill: I'd also ask the same question of you about Imhotep, sunrise and ZPV
ok
regoarrarr: i like sunrise and zpv
imhotep doesn't really talk to me
and his power is going up
i assumed he was attacking me
but my scouts have seen no signs that is true
11:13 PM from my standpoint, the UTA is falling apart as we both have known was likely for 30 turns
and i am hoping to catch on somewhere good in the overall shift of alliances
i think most powers are being somewhat short-sighted and waiting for something else to happen before making any kind of alliance switch
11:14 PM i think that a well timed blow to one of such powers (i'm talking dsp, shady, m-h) would be devastating
Krill: That seems pretty true
11:15 PMregoarrarr: btw did you sign peace with the lins?
Krill: Yeah, I did
regoarrarr: last i heard it was still up in the air
okay
so i believe terms included something like a 75t nap?
Krill: Yup...
And no, I don;t know if that was a wise move or not
regoarrarr: heh
guess we'll see
11:16 PM so, are you interested in using that nap to team up and say attack someone like shadyforce?
walk through my lands maybe?
or i don't know if someone else is closer
Krill: I just want to build
If I don;t the late game is going to be hard...
11:17 PMregoarrarr: you mean i'm not the only one with 60+ anger durations in some of my cities?
Krill: heh, no
some of my cities are unreasonable
regoarrarr: at least no slave revolts...
11:18 PMKrill: They should have expected this to happen!
hey, yeah, that is a bonus
regoarrarr: well i got to get running
Krill: np, ahev a good evening
regoarrarr: will you be around later tonight (for me)
say 830-9pm edt
i'll be back and playing my turn
Krill: I doubt it
regoarrarr: ok
Krill: I'll probably be asleep
regoarrarr: well then i will catch you another time
bye
Krill: cya

It's really simple to get a *lot* of workers with an expansive civ. Just alt-click on a city bar, add two workers to the front of the queue, wait a couple turns, slave every city, and put the overflow into the second worker. You get 2 workers per city, for the cost of 1 or 2 population points per city.
Then you cottage.
They don't call me "Spekker the Techer" for nothing.

Er...my cities aren't that great with food, or have already been slaved into the ground. And my lands are great for cottaging either, about a third of my land is either hills, another third plains and lakes, and the other third grasslands and tundra.
Mostly I'm just going to chop out workers at hte fronts, which is where most of my workers are and then stream a few backwards to the core.
Anyway, numbers for people:
HE in AA eot t118 (forge slaved t117 and overflowed)
Moia in II eot t118 (chopped)
AK in DD eot t119. GP due t138.
And Speaker, I thought that was because you lucked out and got the all calendar starts?
